After months of leaks, rumors, and speculation, Rockstar finally released Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition. As the name might suggest, the bundle serves as the newest — and now only — available version of the GTA 3D trilogy. While many gamers will appreciate the graphical and gameplay improvements, some will have noticed that certain cheats from the original trilogy are missing. Rich Rosado, a producer at Rockstar, has explained that some cheats had to be omitted for technical reasons. While the original trilogy was built using RenderWare, the remasters use the Unreal Engine. Consequently, some cheats could not be implemented.

Although Rosado explained why some cheats are missing, he did not state which cheats did not make the jump from the original to the remaster. Consequently, gamers have been left to make discoveries for themselves. In the process, it has been uncovered that Rockstar has slipped in some new cheats. A new cheat appears in GTA: Vice City which adds snowy weather. There is also a big head mode that works in all three games by inputting the Konami code. That being said, many fan-favorite cheats are still present in the remastered collection.

Of all the games in the GTA 3D trilogy, Vice City is easily the most aesthetically striking entry. Its setting is heavily inspired by 80s Miami and the media that era influenced. Allusions to popular movies and shows such as Scarface are prevalent, and the soundtrack is crafted with 80s hits. Tommy Vercetti, with his Hawaiian shirt and wisecracks, is one of the most memorable protagonists in the series.

GTA Trilogy Missing Cheats - GTA: San Andreas

san andreas remaster

There are not many games that have garnered themselves as much success, notoriety, controversy, and fame as GTA: San Andreas. Released in 2004, San Andreas takes all the elements that have come to be characteristic of the GTA series and raises them to ridiculously ambitious levels. The game tells the story of CJ who returns to his neighborhood in Los Santos to find that his gang, Grove Street Families, is in tatters. As he tries to bring his gang back to its previous glory, he has to deal with opposing gangs, corrupt cops, and much more.

The amount of freedom available in San Andreas is impressive by even today's standards, which makes the game an excellent sandbox to cause mayhem in. With the right combination of cheats, that chaos can be taken to new heights. The game has a long list of cheats. However, not all the cheats have made it to the remaster. According to tests done on PS5, the GTA: San Andreas cheats that are missing are:

Although the list of omitted cheats is long, there are plenty of cheats left in GTA: San Andreas. They are:

With all the cheats available in the remastered GTA trilogy, players should be warned that using cheats disables the ability to earn Trophies and Achievements, so it is best to use them on a separate save file and not save a game with cheats loaded. Additionally, the cheats were tested on PS5. Hence, while they may work on PlayStation, things may be different on Xbox, PC, and the upcoming mobile versions of these games. Lastly, if cheats do not work at first, try entering them again really quickly. The games seem to have a very short time window for cheats to be inputted, especially GTA III and Vice City.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Android and iOS ports are scheduled to release in early 2022.
