The new Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: Sakuretsu!! Chorogon Breath game will be released on March 24th, 2021, the game’s official Twitter account announced.

The game will be released for both the Switch and the PlayStation 4, with an English release planned for a spring release as well. The scrolling shoot 'em up game will have a limited edition containing a guidebook, exclusive manga, as well as a Weiß Schwarz PR card which will come in a unique illustrated box.

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid anime, Kanna, Tooru, Kobayashi

The title is being developed by Kaminari Games, a subsidiary of game developer MOSS. The Tokyo-based studio was founded in 1993 and is best known for the Raiden series and has also worked on 2010’s Neo Geo Heroes: Ultimate Shooting and 2014’s Caladrius Blaze. The Kaminari Games studio was established in 2018, with Sakuretsu!! Chorogon Breath serving as the first title for the fledgling developer, though they did contribute to the Switch version of Raiden V.

Coolkyousinnjya’s Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid manga first began serialization in 2013, published in the inaugural issue of Futabasha’s Monthly Action. The series currently has 11 collected volumes and has inspired a number of spin-offs alongside an anime adaption.

The Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: Kanna's Daily Life spin-off first started serialization in 2016 and has amassed 9 collected volumes. Another spin-off focusing on Elma, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: Elma's Office Lady Diary, was released the following year and has amassed 5 collected volumes so far. The third spin-off, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: Lucoa is my xx, started serialization in 2019 and has 3 collected volumes. A final spin-off series, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: Fafnir the Recluse, has been running since November 2020.

An anime adaptation produced by Kyoto Animation first aired in 2017, with a second season, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S, airing in 2021. Yasuhiro Takemoto, who directed The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid, and Lucky Star worked on both seasons. Composer Masumi Itō handled the music and returned for the 2021 series.

Crunchyroll streamed both seasons of the anime as they aired, with Funimation streaming and producing an English dub. Seven Seas publishes the manga in English alongside the Kanna and Elma spin-offs.
