The following content will contain spoilers for Misfit Of Demon King Academy, Season II, episode 5, "In Between Royalty and Mixed Blood," currently streaming on Crunchyroll. Anos Voldigoad and his devoted subordinates have been doing everything in their power to track down the Child of God, with very little information at their disposal. After locating the Spirit's School Building and happening upon a lost amnesiac, Luna, the group work their way through the strange education system and eventually come face to face with the Spirit King.

In a cruel twist of fate, it appears the Child of God has been under Anos' nose all along, as Misa's true form is finally revealed, along with her other moniker: Avos Dilhevia, The Demon King of Tyranny.

The King of Authoritarianism

Misfit of Demon King Academy Season II Episde 5 review Avos Dilhevia and the Demon Royals

Misa, or rather, Avos Dilhevia, is set on creating a supremacist Realm of Royals; strange, considering her own hybrid lineage, which will likely get conveniently ignored. Interestingly enough, even though she is part Spirit, Avos has Demonic Eyes of Destruction (which are generally reserved for purebloods.) The dangers that Misa previously faced were all a part of the grand plan to kickstart Avos' true form and unleash her powers, while Lay unwittingly also had a role to play in Avos' existence, as he essentially created the false Demon King of Tyranny rumor in the first place.

That being said, rumors may empower Spirits significantly, but they can also be their greatest downfall; if people's faith wavers, so does the corresponding Spirit's life force. Anos plans to destroy Avos by proving his authenticity as the true Demon King of Tyranny while attempting to somehow save Misa, who will likely suffer from the deadly Spirit Disease if the rumors regarding Avos suddenly vanish.

Before they can make any headway, Enyunien entraps everyone in his Extra Class Cocoon and attempts to begin another lecture, but this time around, Anos isn't up for mind games and resorts to violence to escape. They proceed to run into Nigitt (Anos' subordinate from two centuries ago), who promptly attacks his former master to steal his Source; however, the dashing Eges Code intervenes and takes over the fight, granting Anos and his team an escape opening.

Unexpected Allies

It doesn't take long for the group to find Lena (whom Eges had just saved from the Hidden Wolf) and the Tithe is subsequently called upon to assist everyone out of the Spirit's School Building. The adorable Spirits are surprisingly hesitant to help, as they were warned to inhibit Avos' escape; luckily their determination to protect Leno's child is of greater importance, so the party gets teleported to safety and comes face-to-face with a familiar Demon.

Elio Ludowell (who previously led Midhaze forces in the battle between Azeshion and Dilhade) emerges from Delsgade and is astonishingly an undercover loyalist to the True King. He explains that the city has been placed under Demera's spell, which forces Avos' will onto all the residents like a foolproof brainwashing technique. To make matters worse, the spell also has a Magic Power absorption effect that is brutal on hybrid Demons in particular, while anyone below the Royal standards also gets targeted. This seems like the perfect time for Anos to check up on his human parents.

Meanwhile, Emilia, the former Royalist teacher, gets a taste of her own discriminatory medicine as she is beaten to a pulp purely because of her (current) hybrid blood. Her Magic is painfully absorbed by the tyrants surrounding her and it looks like the end of the line until Izabella and Gusta suddenly come to the rescue (well, they try!) Before more innocent blood gets shed, Anos arrives and instantly dominates, stringing the enemy up before "dismembering them into a hundred pieces," leaving a pretty cool firework effect in the sky. Anos uses Alto on the wounded to heal their injuries before inviting everyone back to the Voldigoad household; even the deplorable Emilia, who has seemingly learned her lesson.

Avos' Achilles' Heel

Misfit of Demon King Academy Season II Episde 5 review Misa aka Avos Dilhevia The Child of God

Being a Spirit, Avos cannot benefit from anything outside of the Lore, which Anos plans to use to his advantage. Although the False King has taken ownership of Delsgade thanks to the rumors, she has no authority over the basement, which Anos added to the castle after being reincarnated (to house his hoard of children.) With their strategy established, the Anos Fan Union remains behind to safeguard the parents, while the others mission off to the iconic castle's undisclosed substructure. Clearly, the term "basement" is a vast understatement, as an entire town exists within Delsgade for the Zeshia clones to enjoy, but the group hasn't much time to go sightseeing. Through the next door lies what looks to be a Gatom-type insignia, that will transport them to "the underground dungeon of the original Demon Castle."

Sizing Up The Swords

Misfit of Demon King Academy Season II Episde 5 review Anos Voldigoad and Izabella with Venuzdonoa

Over and above the genocide and world domination, the enemy is looking to steal the Magic Sword of Destruction, which has been kept relatively secret and Lore-less, while those who have encountered Venuzdonoa end up dead more often than not. The already overpowered Avos could potentially become invincible with the Abolisher of Reason in her hands, so much so that even the omnipotent Anos would have a reason for concern.

Remember, this incredible Demon Sword can quite literally defy all logic, nullify magic, destroy absolutely anything, and more. Meanwhile, a mysterious, elaborately crafted sword hangs conspicuously in the Best Parents' home; one of Gusta's creations, or something else? Perhaps Shin Regalia can shed some light on the matter in "The Great Mother Spirit and the Demon King's Right-Hand Man."
