Black Friday is arguably the biggest shopping day of the holiday season as businesses feature massive discounts on everything from home furnishings and apparel to electronics and video games. As one of the major big-box retailers, Best Buy offered plenty of deals during the 2021 holiday shopping season, with plenty of popular games and tech on sale for affordable prices to entice more bargain hunters. However, Black Fridays often tend to live up to their name, with many unfortunate incidents occuring in the chaos - with the most recent taking place at a Best Buy in Minnesota.

The shopping holiday is no stranger to fervent shoppers going to extreme lengths to make sure they secure the best deals on video games, computers, and plenty more. Last year's Black Friday coincided with the highly-anticipated next-gen console launches of the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, with many fans even camping out to grab the consoles. However, a Best Buy in Burnsville, Minnesota fell victim to a darker side of the shopping frenzy yesterday, as the store reported a burglary by a crowd of at least thirty people.

CNN reported on Friday that a group of at least 30 people entered the Burnsville Best Buy and stole a variety of electronics from the retailer. The incident occured just after 8:00 P.M. in the evening on Friday, and reportedly no weapons were drawn during the incident. While there was no report as to the amount of electronics or the value of the products stolen from the Best Buy, the investigation by Burnsville police was reportedly ongoing as of Saturday afternoon.

The Burnsville burglary was not the only incident to take place in a Minnesota Best Buy on Friday evening, as another Best Buy only 25 miles away in Maplewood was similarly burglarized by a group of "10 to 12 adult and juvenile suspects". The robbery similarly targeted electronics, with a variety of products ranging from tables to hoverboards taken from the store. The holiday season is no stranger to these kinds of thefts, as a Chinese factory saw $300,000 worth of RTX 3090s stolen last December.

Black Friday is always a hectic shopping season, as companies slash prices to get the customers spending their hard-earned money. This year's Black Friday sales saw incredible deals from major retailers, like GameStop discounting select Nintendo games by up to 50%, to ring in the holiday season. Black Friday is typically the busiest shopping day of the year for many businesses, and incidents like the Best Buy burglary are an unfortunate side-effect of the once-a-year shopping madness.
