When Minecraft was released into the wild back in 2011, probably nobody knew the huge impact it would have on the gaming world. Many would be forgiven for thinking that, despite the fact that the Minecraft has near-infinite replay value, eventually everything that can be done and seen would have occurred by now. Yet fans are always discovering new things, and this one player has managed to showcase a neat trick which takes one, perhaps somewhat tedious, aspect of the creative side of the game, and makes it that little bit quicker.

Uploading a brief clip to the Minecraft Subreddit a couple of days ago, user Jossen1 has shown that it's possible to fill up huge areas of empty space with water at a faster pace. Normally, something the size of an Olympic swimming pool would take ages to fill using just buckets of water, even in creative mode. However, what the user has cleverly done is utilize stacks of ice blocks to assist with the filling.

Ordinarily, ice does not usually have practical uses, outside maybe building a Minecraft ice house, but utilizing a full hot bar in their inventory, complete with full stacks of the frozen stuff, Jossen1 was able to place columns along two of the edges going all the way down to the bottom of the empty pool, leaving a one block gap in between. A sped up part of the video then shows the user throwing buckets of water in and down the ice columns. The water then begins to fill from the side and then from the other side, completely filling up the entire structure. Slowed down to real time, this trick might still take a bit of time to do, but this seems to be much faster than just using water buckets.

The fan base is full of creative individuals who are able to find new ways to play the game. Take the Minecraft user who managed to create a perfect circle, using zero mods and a complicated system of command blocks and armor stands. What these people show is that, along with new content being added in updates, there is still so much to explore in the expansive sandbox world.

It's nearly impossible to become bored playing Minecraft when there is so much to do. Structures are always being created by the community, and people like Jossen1 are able to showcase new tricks that make creating certain structures that little bit easier. It all goes towards ensuring Minecraft maintains its position as one of the biggest games of the last decade.

Minecraft is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
