The yet-unnamed 1.20 update for Minecraft promises to bring a load of new content for players to enjoy, including the beautiful new cherry blossom biome which one fan has discovered a remarkably tiny version of in the latest snapshot version. The new environment is filled with colorful new types of plants, including the cherry blossom tree which brings along yet another new type of wood for Minecraft building experts to make use of.

Mojang has taken a cautious approach to revealing the features for the upcoming 1.20 update so far, with the developers providing the community with little information until the start of 2023 as to avoid disappointing fans. This was an issue that arose during the development of some of the game's more recent updates, such as Minecraft's Cave and Cliffs update which ultimately had to be split into two parts due to unforeseen complications. Even so, the developers did announce some features for the Caves and Cliffs update that never ended up making into the final version of the update, such as the greatly-anticipated archeology mechanic which resulted in community frustration after it was revealed that the feature had to be scrapped. Thankfully though, it turns out that this archeology feature will get a chance to shine after all, with Mojang recently revealing that it will be a part of the 1.20 update.

Another awesome feature that Minecraft fans can look forward to seeing is the new cherry blossom biome, which one fan recently discovered a hilariously tiny version of in one of Minecraft's latest snapshot versions. The player, under the username Endoskeleton2005 on Reddit, shared their discovery in a post on the site which shows off a cherry blossom biome consisting of no more than three trees. This tiny biome was discovered between a plains biome and some snow-covered mountains while the player was searching for a new cherry blossom biome to explore. Needless to say, they were left somewhat underwhelmed when they came across a version of the biome barely large enough for them to build a house on.

Of course, instances like this are quite rare, and there's no telling what terrains fans can expect to find created by Minecraft's world generation. Biomes can be discovered in many different shapes and sizes, and while updates over the years have given the world generator some more strict rules to abide by, it's still perfectly possible to find some miniature biomes scattered around the world on rare occasions.

While Minecraft's cozy 1.20 update has yet to receive an official name, it has certainly introduced plenty of new content for fans to look forward to. Packed with a plethora of decorative building items, several new types of wood, a fully-realized archeology feature and much more, this new update will offer lots for both builders and explorers to enjoy.

Minecraft is available on PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and most legacy devices.
