A Minecraft player has recreated one of the most memorable games from Squid Game, the glass bridge. Just like in the show, it's almost impossible to cross the first time, unless the player lets some friends go ahead of them.

It’s nothing new that Minecraft players like to recreate some of their favorite movies, tv shows, and even other video games in new, block-like form, though this one required a lot more work. In the original game featured in the show, a player has to safely cross a bridge consisting of glass panels. For each step, they have to choose whether to pick the left or the right sheet of glass to jump to - one will support a person's weight, and the other will shatter on contact and drop the person to their death. The placement of these are random, so the contestant has increasingly worse odds at making it all the way across to the finish line.

In Minecraft this has been recreated with glass blocks topped with pressure plates, only half of which are connected and will destroy the blocks underneath. It’s a neat touch for the game and seems to work beautifully, even if it isn't 100% faithful to the show. Since the developers keep adding blocks to Minecraft, maybe glass pressure plates can be included one day that increase how scary it is to jump across.

Squid Game is a hugely popular Korean Netflix show that’s all about class warfare. It revolves around hundreds of players that are deeply in debt risk and choose to risk their lives in a mysterious competition where they have to play series of children's games. Win, and they earn a massive cash prize. Lose, and they die. Not only was it massively popular with viewers, becoming the top-viewed program in 94 countries, but it was critically acclaimed as well, winning a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor and getting nominated for two more.

Minecraft players love working in creative mode to add new gameplay features to the game, since it’s basically the biggest sandbox game ever released, and it's always a challenge to see how things can be recreated. They have built everything from photorealistic worlds to playable chess boards.

This isn't the first time people have created video adaptations from Squid Game, either. Roblox is currently playing host to thousands of Squid Game knockoffs, and one title called Crab Game was one of Steam's hottest titles last year. While the second season of Squid Game is currently being created ,gamers are waiting to see if it will ever get an official adaptation. A Minecraft DLC pack might be too much to ask for, though.

Minecraft is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
