Minecraft player and Redditor u/DarthAngusBeef recreated an iconic location in Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2, Braithwaite Manor. Not only does the recreation look just like the original but it was all done in Minecraft's survival mode too.

Minecraft is host to countless creators who push the limits of its building system and, those looking to increase the challenge turn to its survival mode, where materials must be gathered and death brings the end of that world forever. Home to the Braithwaite family, Braithwaite Manor becomes an important part of the main quest for Red Dead Redemption 2 players in the game's third chapter as the Van Der Ling Gang moves to Clemens Point.

U/DarthAngusBeef took to Reddit to show off their creation with an image of the Southern plantation style home where the Van der Linde gang eventually clash with the Braithwaite family. To further match the Minecraft player home with the original iconic location, a texture pack as well as shaders were used to add a level of realism.

Minecraft was developed by Mojang and is one of the most successful video games of all time. As a sandbox, it continues to attract content creators who want to flex their creativity. Red Dead Redemption 2 was released in 2018 and developed and published by Rockstar Games. Its world takes players into a fictionalized version of the late 19th/early 20th century American west with sprawling landscapes, classic western towns and southern style architecture, making it a prime candidate for Minecraft recreations.

Creative, a mode that gives players access to an unlimited amount of blocks, is a tempting path for creators looking to recreate something in Minecraft so this build is all the more impressive for avoiding it. The choice to recreate Braithwaite Manor, one of the more memorable sights from Rockstar's classic western sequel, should earn the respect from players of both games. But shaders aren't universally loved by Minecraft players and, for some, it takes away from the Minecraft aesthetic.

But shaders are meant to enhance the look of Minecraft and make the sandbox world look and feel more real. When recreating an iconic game that is known for its focus on realism, shaders and different texture packs are probably the best option to convey the build and match the original. Regardless of the shaders debate, however, the build is beautiful and the recreation does justice to the home of such an impactful part of Red Dead Redemption 2's story.

Minecraft is available on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, and various legacy platforms.
