A Minecraft user has decided to utilize the open-world space to recreate one of the most famous gags from The Office. As one of the highest-grossing video games of all time, Mojang's sandbox title is wide open for millions to come in and create whatever their hearts desire. It's one of the reasons why it's still popular after all these years, with fans coming up with all sorts of interesting and unique ideas. Of course, a reference to a popular sitcom is just as entertaining.

Given the fairly recent update to the game, it seems evident that the developer is keen for Minecraft users to keep coming back to the blocky world, to discover what's new or to fill the landscape with whatever they can conjure. There was a bit of controversy not long ago thanks to changes to the player reporting system, with many concerned about how Microsoft, the parent company of Mojang, would be able to see chat messages even on private servers. However, this hasn't dulled the overall popularity of the game, and the opportunity for boundless creativity is still the crux of the experience.

This also relates to recreations of fan favorites, which in this case refers to the pilot episode of the US version of The Office. Reddit user Doubleladder86 uploaded a single image from Minecraft, which shows a giant stapler encased in what appears to be jello. This is an obvious nod to one of the show's opening jokes, and some in the comments have been offering up their own quotes, including a reference to the cult comedy film Office Space. The Office was one of the most popular sitcoms on TV at its peak, and the stapler-in-jello gag is one that many will instantly recognize, even in this blocky format.

As already mentioned, players love to do their own versions of things from already existing universes. For example, one Minecraft fan decided to recreate Bleak Falls Barrow from Skyrim, while another reimagined the classic Windows XP wallpaper in-game.

These examples, plus many many more, are the reason why the game is still going as strong now as it was when it officially launched in 2011. Minecraft is a game that transcends age groups, being suitable for children and adults, and everyone in between. If a fan wishes to recreate a famous moment from one of the biggest sitcoms of the last decade or so, then the game affords them that ability, and it seems to be going down well in the Reddit community.

Minecraft is available on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
