The Xbox Series X is shaping up to be a powerhouse of a console. Its power difference over the PS5 may end up being staggering, and the ray-tracing technology is one of the reasons why. Recently, some images have been released showing off Minecraft with ray-tracing– and it is impressive, to say the least.

Even as a tech demo video was shown recently with the ray-tracing tech (RTX), these screens may be an even better example of just how gorgeous the RTX can look on the Xbox Series X.

The images released were made by some of Minecraft's creators, including Razzleberries, BlockWorks, and GeminiTay. The creations purposely use different scenes with unique lighting, indoor and outdoor settings, and daytime and nighttime. Minecraft has always been a game with simplistic blocky athletics, but these RTX graphics give the game a brand new and gorgeous look.

It will be interesting to see how the Xbox Series X will compare to the PS5. In the end, software and services may win the day, but having a strong console with technology that is all-powerful certainly can't hurt. It's intriguing to see ray-tracing testing out on a game like Minecraft, as opposed to something graphically intensive like Gears of War. However, the final results speak for themselves.

The Xbox Series X will be available in the Holiday 2020 window.
