Minecraft has crossed over with a medley of different franchises since it first arrived on consoles, a majority of which have been made available to players through paid downloadable content. All kinds of gaming favorites (including Super Mario) have made the jump over Minecraft in the past, but this title in particular is surrounded by an incredibly rare global appeal that transcends mediums. As a result, Microsoft has teamed up to bring brand new skins to the game based on none other than Saban’s Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

The pack is now available across Console, Pocket, and Windows 10 Edition versions of Minecraft, and the digital bundle is currently retailing for $2.99 CAD – while some are said to be available to try for free. The add-on itself includes the entire Power Rangers roster, including the untrustworthy Green Ranger, but also ensures that fans of the series won't be without enemies for the heroes to do battle with. Baddies like Rita Repulsa, Bulk, and Skull are all present as skins in the pack, so players and PR aficionados alike will be able to catch a glimpse of a few of their favorite fiends – albeit in their pixelated and blocky glory.

It's interesting to see that developer Mojang opted to go with retro looking character skins based on the original show rather than the revamped look that the Power Rangers are sporting in the brand new film. Regardless of the thought process behind that decision, the characters themselves make for wonderful skins that fans of all ages are sure to appreciate.

It'll be interesting to see if this Power Rangers DLC launches alongside the Nintendo Switch version of Minecraft later this year, as details on that iteration of the game are still few and far between. Indeed, only time will tell on that front, but those looking to construct a life-sized Megazord on available platforms finally have suitable duds for just such an occasion.

Minecraft's latest batch of skins featuring the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is available now across Windows 10 PC, mobile, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and Wii U.
