Minecraft has gathered a global fan following and has touched the lives of millions of people worldwide. The famous sandbox title from Mojang is the most commercially successful game ever created and also made it onto the list of the best selling games of 2022. Minecraft beat the likes of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, FIFA 22, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, among many other games.

There are many reasons for Minecraft's incredible and sustained success, including regular updates with quality content, high customization options, rewarding gameplay, and one of the biggest maps in open world games. Besides these, Minecraft grants nearly unlimited creative wiggle room to its players, who can design almost anything from their imagination. Armed with these sophisticated tools, one Minecraft player has created a famous Windows background in the game.

Reddit user Setryyk uploaded an image on the social media platform showing their Minecraft creation. The photo shows a reimagined version of the recognizable Bliss wallpaper from the Windows XP operating system. The original Bliss wallpaper is a picture of a green hill and blue sky with a few clouds. Setryyk's version also has a green hill and moderately cloudy sky, with Minecraft's signature block-based look clearly visible. The post quickly gathered the attention of the Minecraft community on Reddit, who showed their love and appreciation through more than 12,000 upvotes.

Setryyk's post also received hundreds of positive comments from people who praised their work and thanked them for inducing a feeling of nostalgia. Other users were curious about the method to make the Bliss background and requested a tutorial. The original poster thanked everyone in the comments section and revealed it took them nearly two hours to recreate the memorable wallpaper in Minecraft. The user also shared a link to a tutorial video that describes how to create the Bliss wallpaper using the game's tools.

Even though most people have seen the recognizable Windows XP wallpaper at some point in their lives, not many are aware of its backstory. A former National Geographic photographer named Charles O'Rear took the photograph in 1996 in California's Wine Country. Soon after, Microsoft purchased the rights for the image and used it as the default background for the Windows XP operating system. By some estimates, the Bliss image was the most viewed photograph at one time.

Minecraft fans are notoriously famous for bringing iconic places and figures from other games and franchises to the sandbox world of Minecraft. Players have designed giant megastructures in Minecraft, like a huge ocean mansion and the Aurora vessel from the popular survival game Subnautica.

Minecraft is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
