Nintendo recently released Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shiny Pearl, but one Minecraft player has just finished recreating one of the most recognizable cities in Pokemon Gold and Silver. This Minecraft player commemorated their appreciation for the second generation of Pokemon through their recreated Goldenrod City.

Reddit user AnonymousDude0613 recently shared their version of Pokemon's Goldenrod City in Minecraft, complete with the instantly recognizable Radio Tower. Although the Minecraft screenshot was taken at night time, the buildings were lit up enough for each building to be distinguishable. Because of the angle of the screenshot, Goldenrod city appeared like it might in a Pokemon game from a birds-eye view.

Goldenrod City is the third city that Pokemon Gold and Silver players will visit and it's not only the biggest city in Johto but one of the biggest metropolises in the entire Pokemon series. The third Gym in the second generation of Pokemon is located in Goldenrod City and it is led by the Normal-type specialist Whitney and her intimidating Miltank. Although the Gym is included in AnonymousDude0613's recreation, Minecraft players won't have to earn a badge by surviving Miltank's powerful Rollout attack.

Pokemon's Goldenrod City has several locations to explore beyond the extensive Radio Tower, such as the Goldenrod Tunnel which is full of other trainers. This city also features Johto's Bike Shop, Name Rater, Game Corner, and Magnet Train Station which are all recreated in AnonymousDude0613's Minecraft seed. Goldenrod City also includes a large department store in which Pokemon fans can buy nearly anything they might need for a battle or any stone required for evolving the Pokemon Eevee and AnonymousDude0613's Minecraft fittingly depicts the Department Store as one of the biggest buildings in Goldenrod City.

Although many of the buildings in AnonymousDude0613's Minecraft recreation of Goldenrod City may be empty, some of the buildings in the original in Pokemon Gold and Silver were strictly aesthetic as well. This is particularly true with many of the smaller buildings in the southern part of the city and some buildings in the east. The scale of AnonymousDude0613 recreated Goldenrod City helps give Minecraft fans an idea of just how much larger the city's Radio Tower is compared to all of the other buildings in the metropolis.

Because AnonymousDude0613's Minecraft Goldenrod City focuses specifically on the city itself, the Pokemon Breeder to the south of Goldenrod City and National Park to the North are both omitted from the recreation. It's currently unclear if the Minecraft Goldenrod City is a surface-level recreation, or if it features the extensive halls of the Radio Tower or Goldenrod City's underground tunnels. AnonymousDude0613 hasn't stated whether or not they intend to recreate other parts of Pokemon's Johto region in Minecraft, but because Goldenrod City is the largest city in the region, it's a solid starting point.

Minecraft is available right now for Mac, Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
