Over the course of the last decade or so, one thing has been pretty consistent, and that's the popularity of Minecraft. It's had its peaks and troughs, of course, but with it being one of the best-selling games of 2022 so far, despite its age, it's continuing to be a winning formula in the industry. The reason for its success can be boiled down to one idea, that fans can pretty much do whatever they want in the game. This creativity can sometimes go beyond building things.

Take YouTuber Mysticat for example. In their most recent Minecraft video, they decided to mess around with coding, specifically seeing what kind of enchanted items they could come up with. The result is some pretty interesting items. One enchantment they managed to do was to give a sword the ability to become a helicopter. Essentially, whenever it's swung, it will spin and propel the player up in the air. They also made a bow and arrow that creates a vortex and sucks whatever life form is nearby into it. On top of that, there was also the axe that can crash a server because it has the ability to remove all dirt blocks in one go.

In the vanilla game, Minecraft's enchanted items can be quite useful. Players can give themselves an advantage over the hostile enemies by giving a sword the power to "smite" with ease, or be able to knock a mob back. It certainly adds a lot more depth to the tools and weapons that the game features, and what Mysticat has done takes this idea even further, perhaps into more silly territories, though even the enchanted items they code themselves do have some practical uses, such as the arrow that auto aims.

Anyone familiar with this YouTuber knows they are capable of creating some interesting projects inside the Mojang-made sandbox game. A while ago, they were able to make a fully driveable tank within Minecraft. They've also done their own giant version of Frogger/Crossy Road, as well as utilize artificial intelligence to create some fairly disturbing textures to be used in the game.

Despite all this silliness and the game's general simplistic visuals, Minecraft has a surprisingly deep lore, though it's not really the story that fans keep returning for. What makes it such a huge hit is the near-infinite replayability that gamers are afforded, and the fact that the game can be changed and customized in so many ways only sweetens the deal.

Minecraft is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
