People have created a lot of unique things in Minecraft over the years. From scale replicas of Imperial Star Destroyers from Star Wars to portraits made out of a single bucket of water and a canal system, the applications of the sandbox game are almost limitless. Most players, however, don't create things that are so... terrifying.

Enter Reddit user Jerinch and their giant chicken. Jerinch posted the evil-looking poultry monster to the Minecraft Subreddit where it quickly blew up with over two thousand likes due to its scary appearance and Jerinch's perfect sub-heading of, "chicken demands your life savings." A user in the comments section called Thenightfall82 summed it up perfectly when they stated, "I feel it demands my soul."

The chicken stands several stories tall with one winged hand outstretched and the other pulled back in a fist, ready to steal the lunch money from anyone who crosses its path. But the horror doesn't end there. Staring deep into the chicken's deranged, bloodshot eyes makes even the scariest Resident Evil games feel like an episode of Barney by comparison.

Truly, if the giant chicken ever came to life it would be enough to cause even the most experienced Minecraft player to build Attack on Titan style walls around their villages to keep the beast out. It is unclear how Jerinch dreamt up this nightmare, but like Dr. Frankenstein before them, they must now come to terms with the fact that they've created a monster.

Jerinch has posted other creations on the Subreddit before, but has historically stuck to impressive Minecraft castle builds. The giant chicken represents their first public foray into creature creation, and they're certainly off to a hilarious and horrifying start. While other Minecraft players have built giant versions of monsters and villains from their favorite games and movies, no one has quite captured the essence of nightmare panic quite like Jerinch's poultry affair.

Some fans have even created versions of King Kong and Godzilla in Minecraft, and while there's no way to actually pit the giant monsters against each other, one thing is certain; the box office smash Godzilla vs. Kong would have been a very different movie if Jerinch's giant chicken were unleashed and pitted against the two famous goliaths. As for what's next in Jerinch's monster-making career, the internet will simply have to watch for what's next -- likely with one eye closed while hiding behind a giant pillow.

Minecraft is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
