Lena Raine, the composer on games like Celeste and Guild Wars 2, has created three tracks for Minecraft that will be implemented in its 20W15A Java Snapshot update. The game has been focusing on adding new elements like Netherite Ore to its hellish alternate dimension the Nether, and all three tracks will be playing in locations there.

Raine posted on Twitter that she is "extremely honored & excited" to announce her involvement, and will be writing a blog post with more information soon. The Minecraft snapshot details posted today include some of her comments about trying to capture the terrifying beauty of the Nether while pushing the game's primarily piano-driven soundtrack until it resembles "other things entirely."

Recent updates to the Nether include a number of things for players to do, and this snapshot adds even more. Some key additions are soul campfires, Gilded Blackstones, and a Basalt Deltas biome featuring Raine's song "So Below."

The game's presence in popular culture is as high as ever it seems, with players still frequenting the sandbox building title even if they just want to plan their villages in Animal Crossing.

Minecraft is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and various other platforms.
