A Minecraft player has discovered a landmark in the game that looks an awful lot like the original logo for Mojang Studios, the developer of the immensely popular sandbox survival game. Studios have a long history of hiding Easter eggs within video games, and a game as popular as Minecraft is no stranger to surprising its players.

With Minecraft being such a giant game, even seasoned veteran players are still discovering new things while spending time with the game. Just a few months ago a Minecraft player found a startling fishing Easter egg while thinking they were just peacefully trying to catch some fish. Larger scale games like this have so much room to add hidden surprises within the world of the game that sometimes it can take players years before a secret is uncovered.

When gamers find Easter eggs, they sometimes go to Reddit and other social media sites to share with other like-minded gamers who might be just as excited, like the Minecraft player who created an amazing abandoned city. In this case, Reddit user CatBluGamer shared their screenshot of the Mojang logo discovery to the official Minecraft subreddit. With 23,000 upvotes at the time of this writing, CatBluGamer clearly found a hidden gem that many others were excited to see as well.

To those not well-versed in the world of Minecraft, this picture may not seem like much at first glance, but the fact that something can go years without a player discovering it is a true testament to how deep and intricate the game truly is. Not only are hidden logos being discovered, but a YouTuber recently discovered secret commands in Minecraft that many were still unaware of, despite the game being released more than 10 years ago in 2011. Small finds like the one CatBluGamer shared to Reddit are great examples of the time and effort developers have taken over the years to make Minecraft an incredibly intricate world with new discoveries to make every day.

Easter eggs and hidden details within video games are just one of the many aspects that keep many gamers coming back for more year after year, no matter how much they've played a title. Whether it's a larger scale game like Minecraft and Skyrim or a smaller, more linear universe like in the Uncharted series, both types of games tend to always come with little secrets and hidden details for their players to uncover, which inevitably creates a far more meaningful gaming experience overall.

Minecraft is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, as well as legacy platforms.
