The Minecraft modder Floo Network went viral when it created a massive Harry Potter School of Witchcraft and Wizardry map in Minecraft. And now that huge map is finally available for everyone else to play in.
Minecraft is a widely available sandbox game that has bred a lot of creativity in its players. People have spent hundreds of hours building massive worlds and maps in the game, recreating everything from Nightmare Before Christmas to Doom in Minecraft. Modders can even add things like in-map puzzles, quests, and character skins that can make their maps feel even more like the original they're themed on. And after Floo Network built a Harry Potter world and it went viral, it decided to share its creation with the world.
The Harry Potter School of Witchcraft and Wizardry mod is now available for Minecraft players to get lost in. Although its still in alpha, players are flocking in for the chance to mix sandbox and magic together and have a magical, if blocky, adventure in Hogwarts. Floo Network released a gameplay trailer for its mod, and the scale in mind blowing. This mod is looking to become the most popular crossover mods ever for Minecraft even before its finished release. All players have to do to get the mod is go to Gumroad and download and play (though the mods ask for donations if players can spare anything).
There is a reason why Minecraft is one of the most downloaded games for the Switch in 2019 and other systems as well, in spite of being more than a decade old. The amount of freedom players are given in the game is staggering, and the Harry Potter mod exploits that to the fullest.
This astounding mod is massive, and includes classes in witchcraft and wizardry, puzzles, secrets, and a map so big that players can lost in it for days. It really and truly makes Minecraft feel like a completely different game as players get lost in the magical world of Harry Potter.
