A new mod for Minecraft has been released, which gives the option to brew, drink, and even sell beer in the blocky Mojang title. Although it is possible to finish Minecraft by defeating the Ender Dragon, the majority of players stick around for the near-endless creative potential the game offers. The base experience alone is more than enough to keep fans engrossed for hours upon hours, building all sorts of structures and contraptions using powerful mechanics that have kept the release in good standing for well over a decade.

Then there is the modding community, which has sought to stretch the game's longevity even further. Minecraft has a ton of community made mods, some of which can turn it into a different experience entirely. Everything from graphical improvements, including the ability to play an RTX version of the game, to implementing new features mean that Mojang's sandbox release continues to dominate the gaming market with no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Now a new mod has been released for Minecraft that's specifically aimed at those interested in home brewing. As spotted by PCGamesN, a series of modders on Curse Forge have unleashed "Drink Beer Refill," a modification for the game that, as the name implies, makes it possible to brew beer. The download page gives instructions on how to go about doing it, which includes preparing a keg and four empty beer mugs, then placing the ingredients into the keg and allowing the beer to brew. It's even possible to barter with residents, which can yield additional items like spices.

Brewing is something that can already be done in Minecraft, a feature that was added to the game all the way back in 2011. Of course, this was for making potions, so what "Drink Beer Refill" does is add an extra element to the more homestead aspects of the game, along with farming and trading with villagers. It's just one other way that the community is making sure that the blocky title continues to offer as much as possible so it can remain anchored in the gaming spotlight.

In fact, despite how old it is, Minecraft is still one of the best-selling games, and as of now, Mojang has sold around 238 million units of its sandbox game. Compared to GTA 5, which at last count had sold more around 170,000 copies, Minecraft is leaving the competition behind by miles and has become one of the most successful IPs in video game history.

Minecraft is available on 3DS, Mobile, PC, PS3, PS4, Switch, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
