Minecraft Legends is already a major hit for Xbox Game Pass with millions of players venturing through the Overworld since its launch last month. Following the success of the ever-popular Minecraft, Minecraft Legends brings a new experience in the form of an action strategy game featuring co-op and competitive multiplayer.
Developed by Mojang Studios and Blackbird Interactive, Minecraft Legends focuses on the story of a hero who protects the Overworld from the Piglin Invasion and the Nether. The Nether corruption spread by the Piglins destroys everything within reach, and it's up to players to combat this threat and become the fabled hero in Minecraft Legends. Players may also enjoy a co-op campaign with up to four players or face off against each other in Versus Mode, which supports up to eight players.
The official Minecraft Legends Twitter account reveals over three million players have already tried out the new game since its launch on April 18 across consoles, PC, and Xbox Game Pass. Promotional material for Minecraft Legends was shared with the announcement, highlighting praise from several outlets regarding the game's story, combat, and online features. Thus far, Minecraft Legends appears to be one of Xbox Game Pass' biggest day one launches of 2023.
Minecraft Legends is one of the most well received first-party titles for Xbox Game Pass in 2023 alongside Tango Gameworks' Hi-Fi Rush. The success of Minecraft Legends also extends past Xbox Game Pass since the recently released title is available now on multiple platforms including Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5.
