In the gaming world, it seems as though it would be near-impossible to come across someone who hasn't at least heard of Minecraft. Its open-world vastness, infinite creative potential, unique visuals, and the fact that it's a game that doesn't require high-end PC specs, all contribute to it having mass appeal, transcending age groups, and just generally being one of the biggest IPs in recent history. Part of this continued popularity is the fact that fans are more than keen to tweak the experience, pulling in other franchises as well.

As spotted by PCGamesN, YouTuber CRAIY, along with another user called Joris, has essentially turned Minecraft into The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. A video uploaded recently shows what this mod contains, and it demonstrates that not only have the two implemented some physical aspects from the latter, but they've also been incorporating some of the gameplay elements as well. Basically, this isn't just a build that recreates the Zelda game visually, but seems to be a full datapack that incorporates game-changing mechanics.

One of the things shown off in the video is Breath of the Wild's Sheikah tower and Sheikah tablets, as well as the camps that contain the Bokoblins. Both the tower and campsites are randomly generated as well. But where the mod really strikes a chord is the fact that it allows players to pick up iron blocks and move them around. They can even push them around or throw them. It also gives the ability to create ice pillars in water, as well as throw and detonate bombs, similar to BotW. The ability to pick up blocks can even be utilized for mob spawners, which could be handy for players.

In general, it's a very impressive looking mod, and is available to download for those interested. It's also not the first time someone has taken this iconic Nintendo series and placed it into Mojang's open-world game. A while back, another user showed images of them also remaking Breath of the Wild in Minecraft, so it seems fans are eager to bring the two together at last.

Not only is Breath of the Wild one of the most celebrated games in the Legend of Zelda franchise, it's also one of the best Nintendo games ever made, according to Metacritic. That reason alone is enough to justify people wanting to do their own Minecraft versions of it, and the one coded by CRAIY and Joris does look fascinating, especially for anyone who is a fan of both IPs.

Minecraft is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
