A Minecraft leak has offered players a glimpse at an in-development world editor. Considering the age of the game, Minecraft has never really been known for high-profile leaks, even if some secrets have slipped out over the years. With Minecraft renowned for inspiring creativity within its fan base, it's great that Mojang remains dedicated to giving players the tools they need to build their perfect world. Players of the game continue to find new incredible ways to impress using the game's existing sandbox, with one fan even building a fully functional trading card game in Minecraft, but more options are never a bad thing. Once this world editor comes to fruition, it may take a while before its potential is fully realized. But once players get to grips with it, it'll surely result in some incredible creations.RELATED: Minecraft is Crossing Over With Mega Man XThe leak of the world editor comes from the Twitter of industry insider Roger Badgerman, who posted the video online. The clip shows the user using adjustable cube brushes to paint blocks into the world, allowing the player to terraform huge swathes of the map in a short space of time. It also displays the player copying a section of the world, and pasting it elsewhere. The tool looks extremely powerful, and it's perhaps a surprise that resources have been provided to undertake such an endeavor. Mojang already has its hands full at the moment, with the upcoming Minecraft 1.20 update promising to be the game's biggest update in a long time.

According to the leak, the world editor is currently only in development for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition and not Minecraft: Java Edition. Through third-party tools, players of Minecraft: Java Edition can already use world editors to terraform their worlds, so it's good to see more feature parity between the two games. Unfortunately, the leak doesn't have any form of release date or timeframe for the world editor, so right now it remains a mystery until Mojang officially confirms its existence.

With this leak, it's just another thing that Minecraft fans have to look forward to in the future. The original game continues to get frequent large updates, and the upcoming release of Minecraft Legends promises to offer players a whole new way to explore. Like Minecraft Dungeons and Minecraft Story Mode before it, the game is an expansion of Mojang's timeless formula, and a freshening up of a franchise that has been at the forefront of pop culture for well over a decade now.

Minecraft is available on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
