A Minecraft player has been showing off an incredible ice boat track that they've created in the game, taking the player on a tour of the sights around the world. Ice boat tracks are just another subsection of the community, with other Minecraft challenge modes such as parkour and speed running also proving popular among players.

When Minecraft was first released in 2011, no one could have predicted the impact it would have on pop culture. Developer Mojang would create the best-selling game of all time, with its procedurally-generated, voxel-based worlds capturing the imaginations of everyone who played. By creating simple building mechanics that had a high ceiling to master, the developer ensured that there was something for everyone. Even smaller maps such as the track seen here are certainly within the capabilities of the average player if they're willing to commit the time to learn.

The track takes players on a tour of Minecraft, with the ice track beginning in a series of caves before moving to the standard Overworld. It then continues through Minecraft's other dimensions, traversing through the Nether and the End. Reddit user Koning_DanDan claims the track took just four hours to complete and test. Some Minecraft creations can take years to complete, so this user won't feel as though they've made too much of a time commitment here.

There's more than initially meets the eye to this ice boat track. Unlike many of Minecraft's mine cart creations which are often automated experiences, this track is controlled by the player, and with the slippery ice provides a challenge to overcome. The track utilizes tight corners and slime blocks to bounce the player to high heights, meaning an element of concentration is needed to avoid failure. Fans clearly loved the track, with over 7600 upvotes in the 24 hours of posting.

Since its release, Minecraft has become one of the biggest franchises in gaming history, with its player base now beginning to span several generations of children and adults. It's Lego-like, in that the only limit to creations is the imagination of the players. It's one of the reasons Minecraft has stood the test of time in the way that it has, with mind-blowing fan creations released almost constantly. Some fans even use Minecraft to pay homage to some of their other favorite games.

Minecraft is available now for Mobile, PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Switch, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
