A talented Minecraft fan has shared their recreation of one of the game's iconic Grass Blocks in the form of real-world chainmail. The three-dimensional Grass Block recreation is quite unique in the choice of medium, and fans seem to be very impressed with the artist's efforts.

Minecraft's Grass Block is something most gamers have seen often enough to become familiar with, even if they haven't played the game. The green and brown block can be found abundantly in Minecraft, and is often broken down by beginners to build simple things, like a player's first Minecraft shelter to get through the night. It makes a great choice for a Minecraft project, though most likely wouldn't have thought of making something quite like this.

Reddit user Hylian_Princess816 took to the Minecraft community section of the site to share their creation, which flawlessly emulates the green and brown appearance of the Minecraft block. The cube sits in the palm of the user's hand and looks spot-on in terms of shape and color choice. Fans have been extremely impressed with the creation, due in part to the fact that it's such a unique medium to use to create the replica.

Fans in the comments were quick to poke fun at the idea of an Enderman walking off with the block, as they tend to do in-game. Others joked about how chainmail is an ineffective choice for protection in-game, and that using chainmail this way is a better choice than trying to wear it. Others wondered about the materials used and whether the artist is selling them, to which they responded that their projects are generally made out of aluminum or galvanized steel wire, and that while they don't have a website at this time, they were considering pricing it at about $50.

Minecraft has stunningly lasting popularity, with children and adults still flocking to the game regularly to explore and build to their hearts' content. Players have done some truly tremendous things in-game in Minecraft, building expansive worlds, recreations of iconic scenes from movies and TV, or even providing social experiences, like graduation ceremonies during the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic. With the title having such a huge impact on gamers, it makes sense for the same creativity that players find an outlet for in-game to be used in the real world to pay tribute to the game, like with this Minecraft chainmail block. As the years go by, fans will likely continue to find curious and creative ways to pay tribute to the game.

Minecraft is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and legacy platforms.
