As Minecraft has grown and evolved over the years, gradually more enemy mobs and animals have been added to the title. Some of these mobs rarely - if ever - encounter each other, due to calling wildly different biomes and parts of the map home. However, it seems that there's an extremely surprising interaction between two of them if a player brings them together.

Frogs and goats are two of the recent mobs to join the experimental gameplay in the Bedrock Edition of Minecraft. Due to frogs spawning in swamps and low-lying areas and goats appearing in mountain biomes, the two mobs don't meet under ordinary circumstances. With the help of a cheat, though, one player discovered that Minecraft's frogs are bigger predators than one might expect.

Redditor JamesLovesTV brought this particular Minecraft peculiarity to light. They briefly show spawning in a frog, followed by a goat. The frog quickly turns its attention to the goat, and then to the user's surprise, eats it. They test the interaction again, this time spawning in multiple goats, followed by additional frogs. Each time, the Minecraft frogs quickly home in on a goat, flick out a tongue, and each goat promptly vanishes, having been devoured.

Those responding to the post have shared a mix of amusement and shock. While frogs are harmless when interacting with players, they are designed to attack slimes and magma cubes. However, frogs attacking goats is listed as a known issue in the current experimental gameplay build of Minecraft Bedrock Edition, so it seems this wasn't intentionally programmed in. That being said, several commenters have voiced hopes that the bug won't be fixed, as it's fairly harmless while being seen as pretty funny.

Experimental builds and betas of games are typically littered with plenty of bugs, with some having more impact than others. While it's a great opportunity for developers to iron out these problems, often with the help of the community in finding the issues in the first place, not every bug has to be fixed. While Creepers are one of the most iconic mobs to exist in the Minecraft universe, it wasn't always that way. The mob was originally just a misprogrammed pig that stood vertically instead of on all fours. The developer ultimately decided to keep it, with the iconic hissing and explosion-prone mob bringing dread to Minecraft players everywhere since.

It remains to be seen whether Mojang will decide to remove this bug or not. Even if it stays in the code, many players might not ever encounter it. Still, it could prove to be an amusing Minecraft easter egg of sorts, so players will just have to wait and see.
