A Minecraft fan has created their own plush of one of the game's next mobs, the community voted Sniffer. With Mojang also announcing version 1.20, which will be rolling out in 2023, the open-world sandbox release is still flying high after all these years, with new content being implemented on a regular basis. What's keeping the title so popular is the fact that it allows for unlimited creative potential, and players have spent the past decade or so showing off their projects.

On top of that, fans also get to vote on what creatures get added to the game. The recent Minecraft mob vote results came in, showing that the Sniffer was the overall champion, with the Rascal and Tuff Golem being runner-ups. The upcoming new addition to the game can be found in underwater eggs that the player will then hatch. As the name suggests, this new mob, which will actually be classed as "ancient," will be able to "sniff" out items, specifically ancient seeds. Once located, these seeds can then be used to grow new types of plants.

To show their appreciation for the Sniffer, a Reddit user called Puglin_8 has made their own plush, showing a number of images off in a Minecraft thread. There aren't any details about how they were able to create it, but a quick look at their post history shows they've made a bunch of plushies based on Mojang's IP in the past. Many in the comments have left words of praise for the user, with one saying that it looks like it could be mistaken for official merch. Some others have expressed interest in being able to purchase their own Sniffer, but Puglin_8 hasn't said whether they'll make it available. It's unlikely they will be able to sell the plush, owing to potential legal issues with the studio.

Mobs are a key component to the Minecraft experience, and over the years, there have been so many NPCs added to the already expansive world. Some of the more classic ones, such as the zombie, skeleton, Enderman, and the roster of farm animals, have been a mainstay for years, with more being added by the developer.

With its fantastic base-building mechanics, near-infinite gameplay, as well as all the creatures that reside within the blocky realm, it's hardly surprising Minecraft is still dominating the AAA sphere in gaming. The fact that fans feel inspired to create their own merchandise shows just how much of an impact it's has had over the years.

Minecraft is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
