Mojang's hugely popular, open world sandbox title Minecraft is something of a gaming phenomenon. Players can essentially choose how they play, whether they want a perfectly peaceful map to build creative structures, or they want to tough it out in a hardcore world fighting the Ender Dragon, there's something for everyone. It's also got a distinct look about it which makes it instantly recognizable. So much so, that often fans decide they want to take some of the assets from the world and recreate them in real life, as this one person does.

Uploading a couple of images to the Minecraft Subreddit recently, user rdditar has been able to craft an accurately built singular chest with the look and proportions very similar to the one in-game. One photo shows the inside of the chest, which, although empty, is lined with what appears to be soft red velvet that really makes it pop. The thread has received numerous comments on the craftsmanship, with many praising the facsimile and the work that's gone into it.

A couple of users have jokingly asked the creator what shaders they've been using, referring to the fact that the chest is so life like that maybe they're playing Minecraft with RTX on. One other person has asked if another one like it is placed next to rdditar's chest, will it form a giant chest like in the game, to which the original poster replied, hinting that they could possibly create a double chest at some point. There have been some who have brought to light the dimensions of the IRL build, with suggestions that this version may be slightly too small. However, the creator has said that an "accurate scale" project will probably be next. Additional photos of the real life chest can be found here.

This is also not the first time someone has decided to take aspects from the game and recreate them as accurately as possible. A few months back, another fan created miniature versions of some of the Minecraft blocks, such as grass and glass. It's a game that seemingly inspires players to bring the blocky world into their own lives, showing off their own crafting skills.

With the Caves and Cliffs: Part Two update coming soon, possibly out by the time this article goes live, Minecraft is continuing to pull in millions of players and having new content added on a regular basis. With near infinite replayability, and the fan base teeming with creative individuals, it's no wonder it's stood the test of time and is not showing any signs of waning in popularity, even ten years after release.

Minecraft is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
