Once players make their way to Minecraft Dungeons' Redstone Mines, they will come face to face with a mob which has sort of acted as the face of the game, the Redstone Golem. Fans will no doubt be familiar with this beast as it has appeared in many promo images.

Minecraft Dungeons' Redstone Golem is a hulking beast of animated Redstone Ore. It first appears as boss enemy at the end of the Redstone Mines level, but will appear frequently as a regular miniboss type enemy in the final three levels of the game. As such, knowing how to fight one is pivotal to players' success.

Thankfully, the Redstone Golem's attacks aren't too difficult to figure out, but its massive HP pool and high damage output can still make it a pain to deal with, especially when paired with other enemies later on. Players will need to develop some strategies to efficiently deal with these.

The Redstone Golem has just two main attacks, a melee attack which has both high damage and knockback, and an ability to summon mines around the battlefield. The key to defeating the Redstone Golem lies in the second of these attacks. Whenever the Redstone Golem doesn't have mines set out, he will get close to the player and attempt to set them. While he is doing so, the player is free to wail on the beast to their heart's content, but should be sure to get away before he finishes, taking care to avoid the mines on the ground while doing so.

Trying to go toe to toe with a Redstone Golem is basically suicide, and even using defensive artifacts like the Iron Hide Amulet only buys the player a few hits before they fall. With that in mind, players will either need to rely entirely on ranged attacks (assuming they have enough ammunition) or on exploiting the weakness mentioned above.

Things get especially hairy when the Redstone Golem is found in tight spaces or in conjunction with other enemies. In these cases, it is best to quickly dispatch any support the Redstone Golem has before attempting to deal with it, and if possible to lure it into a more open area. Fortunately, upon defeat, the Redstone Golem will almost always drop a consumable such as TNT, a Shadow Brew potion, or sometimes even food to restore lost health.
