Last October, Mojang held a special Minecraft Livestream filled with updates for Minecraft Dungeons that players should expect to see rolled out into the game in the future. Minecraft Dungeons Howling Peaks Release Date

A couple of weeks ago, Mojang finally revealed that Howling Peaks would be released to Minecraft Dungeons on December 9, 2020, for the PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One. This new DLC pack serves as the third major update for the game since its launch earlier this year. So far, Mojang revealed that the DLC expansion would include new levels, enemies, and loot items similar to the Jungle Awakens and Creeping Winter DLC packs.

Additionally, Mojang revealed a new Season Pass that will be available for Minecraft Dungeons, and this bundle will include access to the Howling Peaks DLC and the three unannounced DLC packs that are set to launch sometime after Howling Peaks is released. It is worth noting that players can purchase Howling Peaks separately. Still, Mojang confirmed that buying the Season Pass will net players with a discount, especially if they plan to pick up any future content expansions. For those who are only interested in the upcoming DLC expansion, then buying Howling Peaks by itself is the way to go. However, for those who are also planning to get any of the other DLC expansions that Mojang has in store for Minecraft Dungeons, then getting the Season Pass is the logical and most affordable option.

Location-wise, Howling Peaks will add a new mountainous area for players to explore, where they will encounter wind-based enemies, a new boss, tons of new gear, equipment, and loads of new puzzles to solve. Additionally, Mojang is releasing a free update alongside the release of Howling Peaks, which will add six new enchantments to the base game.

In terms of size, players should expect Howling Peaks to be as huge as the Jungle Awakens and Creeping Winter updates. Major expansions will be in the form of new levels and mobs, which is set to bring variety to the overall experience in the game. Additionally, Mojang confirmed the inclusion of a new boss called the Tempest Golem, which is expected to be a strong foe and will be given powerful abilities and brutal melee attacks.

Alongside the Tempest Golem will be the addition of other mobs such as the Squall Golem, Mountaineer, and Wind Callers, who will summon gusts of wind to players knocking them up into the air and inflicting fall damage upon landing. New Animals are also expected to be included, such as the Wooly Cow and Mountain Goats. Apart from all the new enemies that players will encounter in Howling Peaks, Mojang is also adding a diverse set of difficulty options to Minecraft Dungeons. As per Mojang, the update will bring 20 new difficulties past Apocalypse VII, which will definitely add to the challenge players will experience in the game while rewarding them with even better gear for all their trouble.

Minecraft Dungeons is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
