Minecraft Dungeons is filled with plenty of unique maps for players to explore and fight monsters in. Each has a set theme that can give players an idea of what to expect when dealing with each one. However, there are also secret levels hidden that players can experience if they can find them.

Players will not be able to access the secret levels from the main map menu until they obtain the secret level's scroll, so knowing which maps to check is crucial to accessing each of them. What's also important is knowing what to look for as each map is procedurally generated, making it difficult to point players in a specific direction.

Creepy Crypt

Creepy Crypt in Minecraft Dungeons

The Creeper Crypt can be accessed off paths that branch from the main route, with most playthroughs finding it on the left side of the map. The structure for the scroll is easy to spot as it will have two Redstone bricks just above a button that sits on the ground. Once plays step on the button, a door will open and they will be in the crypt. The level is filled with different tombs and will have a lot of mobs that will need to be killed in it as well. While there is plenty of loot and secrets to find, the main mission is to find the lost tome.

Arch Haven

Arch Haven in Minecraft Dungeons

One of the most difficult scrolls to find in the game is the Arch Haven secret level. Players can gain access to this by visiting Pumpkin Pastures if the player finds a small ship that has an entrance right on its deck. It has a low spawn rate, so players may need to keep replaying the level to spot it. The ship will have the scroll inside. The Arch Haven is a small island outpost that has a small village and a cave. The goal of the level is to find all spellbooks throughout the village.

Soggy Cave

Soggy Caves in Minecraft Dungeons

Located in Soggy Swamp is the Soggy Cave scroll and besides a difficult spawn rate, there is no clearly defined area where to look for it either. Two things to look out for are if players come across cobblestone stairs and checking to see if there are at least two secrets in an area. The cobblestone stairs will lead down to an entrance that leads to the scroll. The Soggy Cave is filled with different monsters that need to be fought as well as puzzles that need to be solved. The final room in the area will have an Obsidian Chest waiting for the player.

Lower Temple

Lower Temple in Minecraft Dungeons

The Lower Temple level is, as the name describes, the lower levels of the Desert Temple. In order to gain access to this area, players will need to reach a bridge over water. Players need to go to the upper left side room where they will need to power three beacons that are at the end of multiple paths in the room.

There will be a scroll sitting on a pedestal. The Lower Temple is very similar to the regular temple in gameplay but looks more ruined. Players must use a Key Golem to open the exit to the secret level.

Underhalls

Players will have a much easier time finding the entrance to the Underhalls scroll compared to all the others. All they will need to do is walk to the end of the first hallway in Highblock Halls and go through the doorway in front of them instead of going up the stairs. Once going down a few steps, players will just need to click on the two shields on the wall to open the secret's entrance. The scroll will be inside. The Underhalls are referred to as the cellar of the main level. The level is similar to Creepy Crypt in that has many booby traps and arena-like mob rushes.

???

The Mooshroom secret level ??? in Minecraft Dungeons

Quite possibly the strangest secret level in the game is one that is literally titled "???." In order to gain access to this location, players must have collected all the runes in the game (with hints given inside the church at the campsite) and beaten the Obsidian Pinnacle. The church is where players can gain access to the scroll upon completion of the rune collection. In "???," players will find themselves in a Mushroom Island biome needing to kill a bunch of Mooshroom in order to escape the area, including the Mooshroom Monstrosity.

Panda Plateau

Panda Plateau is the first of the DLC secret levels that have been added since the release of Minecraft Dungeons a few years ago. As part of the Jungle Awakens DLC, the Panda Plateau can be unlocked by visiting the Dingy Jungle. Players must obtain the scroll to unlock it, which can be located during the cross-the-canyon objective. After taking a rope bridge and passing a creeper statue, that path should lead to either an obsidian chest or an entrance where the scroll is. The plateau itself is rather tame minus a few aggressive jungle mobs.

Lost Settlement

Players must visit the Frosted Fjord in the Creeping Winter DLC and find an area that has three switches on it in order to start looking for the Lost Settlement scroll. After hitting all three switches, go through the entrance and proceed forward until a water wheel comes into view.

Activate it to open a new path that will lead to an area with a switch on the ground. This will give players access to jump across the water and gain access to ship with the scroll in it. The Lost Settlement includes a settlement to explore and waves of mobs that end with a boss battle with the Illusioner.

Colossal Rampart

As part of the Howling Peaks DLC, players can experience Windswept Peaks while also looking for access to Colossal Rampart. Players must be deep in the main level to start looking for the Colossal Rampart scroll. Players will need to find a door that they will need to jump down onto a platform to access. Once there, players will just need to go through the level to earn the scroll that will unlock the level on the main map menu. The Colossal Rampart is a fortress that is filled with mobs, puzzles, and two war machines that are used solely for getting through the level.

Nether Fortress

To go along with the Nether Update for the actual game, the Flames of the Nether DLC added three new levels along with three secret levels. The first is the Nether Fortress, which is located in the Basalt Deltas. Players will be lucky to access this area if they get the "Power The Gates" objective as they will receive the scroll after defeating the Ghast. The Nether Fortress is very reminiscent of the structure of Nether Fortresses in actual Minecraft, but the amount of enemies the player will encounter is greatly increased.

Crimson Forest

The two forest variants are in Minecraft Dungeons as separate levels, with the Warped Forest main level needed to access the Crimson Forest secret level. The main objective in Warped Forest is to "Find The Key." Players will need to survive a massive ambush but, after doing so, they will be able to gain access to previously closed gates. There should be a staircase right there that will lead up to the Crimson Forest scroll. Players can take a beating in this area and will need to be careful as the routes are winding right above imminent death.

Soul Sand Valley

This is the only circumstance in the game where a scroll is inside a secret level and will be used to unlock another secret level. In this case, players will need to navigate the Crimson Forest in order to unlock the Soul Sand Valley. Players will need to specifically look for the scroll during the "Raise The Gate" objective. It will be sitting on a similar pedestal just like other circumstances. The Soul Sand Valley is considered among the toughest levels in the game as it has an army of different Nether mobs that will attack the player, but it reaps a nice reward.
