Last month, Minecraft Dungeons fans got a free update and the game's first-ever DLC: Jungle Awakens. Not long after, fans are getting a second DLC, Creeping Winter, to be released along with another free update.

Minecraft Dungeons has performed extremely well, even dethroning the popular Animal Crossing: New Horizons in the Nintendo eShop. That's an impressive feat in and of itself, and Minecraft Dungeons has proven itself to be accessible for younger and newer players while still being challenging enough for more experienced players. The Jungle Awakens DLC added some awesome new gear and animals to an already fascinating game.

The upcoming DLC will be released on September 8 and will bring new missions, enemies, armor, weapons, and artifacts to the game in the midst of a winter storm. There's already a lot of cool hidden areas in Minecraft Dungeons that players can hunt for, and now there will be even more to explore and discover for players who purchase Creeping Winter. Those who bought the Hero Edition of Minecraft Dungeons for $9.99 won't even have to buy the DLC, as all is included.

Hero Edition is also getting an update on September 8, and will be physically available for PS4, Switch, and Xbox One when Creeping Winter drops. Since Jungle Awakens was $5.99 in the US, it's expected that this DLC will be a similar price, meaning that buying both DLC separately will most likely cost more than just buying Hero Edition and getting both DLC for free. Of course, not everyone likes everything that different DLC have to offer and many people may just prefer to individually purchase DLC that sounds appealing to them.

For people who don't want to buy the DLC or Hero Edition and are content with Minecraft Dungeons' replayability and randomly generated levels, everyone will be getting an update for free. The update is bringing new Merchants that can be saved and will then set up their shops in the player's camp. The Blacksmith Merchant can upgrade players' items, and the Gift Wrapper lets the player trade items in multiplayer. The update will also include Daily Trials, which will give players optional "difficult, experimental, or fun challenges."

Having been based off of the incredibly successful sandbox game MinecraftMinecraft Dungeons is following up in its predecessors footsteps with a ton of cool content and options for players to explore, fight, and craft. Games like Minecraft Dungeons offer many types of players a lot of ways to fill their game time, and adding on unique DLC only increases the replay value.

Minecraft Dungeons is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
