Minecraft Dungeons features a multitude of bosses that are all challenging in their own way, but one of the most overwhelming challenges is the Corrupted Cauldron. This enemy is the boss of the Soggy Swamp area, and can be faced rather early due to the game's non linear approach to the story.

Minecraft Dungeons' Soggy Swamp becomes available as soon as the player completes the Creeper Woods location, but may be best saved for a little later due to the difficulty of the boss and the level itself. That said, the Corrupted Cauldron can be taken on at any level so long as players understand its moveset.

This boss has no attacks of its own per se, but does a lot to hinder players' attempts to defeat it. If players let the cauldron be for too long, things will quickly get far too overwhelming to handle.

The first thing players will notice about this fight is that the cauldron is capable of summoning allies. It does so in two fashions. The first of which sees it summon typical enemies, such as zombies, husks, and the like. These aren't a huge threat but can be in numbers. The second form of summoning has the cauldron spit out tons of purple slimes. These slimes will remain mostly stationary, but will fire volleys of projectiles at the player. It is vital that players cull the slimes as quick as possible, as the cauldron will simply keep summoning them. The Amulet of Protection can help give a brief respite from this onslaught.

Next, should the player get too close, the Corrupted Cauldron can conjure up a wall of purple flame around itself. The player can choose to stand in this and continue with melee attacks but it does deal quite a bit of damage especially when compounded with everything else going on. To make matters worse, even if the player manages to damage the boss, it can heal itself by eating the corpses of its summoned allies. It can't do this with the slimes however, and it must be near a corpse in order to do so.

Unfortunately, there isn't much the player can do about the healing aspect, and the health it restores is minor enough to not make it a huge problem. Players should focus on taking out the purple slimes, only moving in to attack when their numbers are few and the cauldron is not protected by fire. Beyond this, ranged weapons and artifacts will be players' best friends.

Minecraft Dungeons is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
