Minecraft Dungeons has seen a steady stream of updates since its initial release back in 2020. From simple optimization updates to DLC releases like the Howling Peaks expansion, Mojang Studios has been very active in its support of the Minecraft offshoot. That support doesn't appear to be waining any time soon, and the newest update will bring the highly anticipated cloud saving features to the game.

The Minecraft dungeon crawler is available on almost every console available, from PC and Switch to PS4 and Xbox Series X; the game can be played on almost anything. However, if a gamer plays Minecraft Dungeons on their Xbox and then moves over to a PlayStation, they are not able to take their save game and progress with them. However, that is set to change on May 5.

The information comes courtesy of a tweet sent out by the official Minecraft Dungeons Twitter account which states that players will be able to play the title on a TV screen, portable device, or computer and that, "The adventure doesn't have to stop!" The tweet continues, "...you’ll be able to pick up and play your save game on any supported platform!" The Dungeons Twitter handle has unveiled updates before, such as the recent Minecraft Dungeons Xbox Series X optimization, but the cloud saving update has been met with some of the most enthusiastic replies in the account's history.

To take advantage of cloud saving, players will simply have to login to the same Microsoft account on their favourite systems and the files will appear and update on each one. So, if a player goes on an Ancient hunt in Minecraft Dungeons to get gilded items on their Switch, then picks up the game on their PC, all the new gilded items will be there.

Minecraft Dungeons is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
