Many members of the Minecraft community are well-known among those in the gaming space for their creative talents, and while players have never stopped allowing their boundless imaginations to run wild by inventing all manners of impressive builds, one fan has dedicated their time towards constructing a neat statue of a huge crab. There never seems to be an end to the stream of awesome creations designed by talented Minecraft fans, with many new ones being posted on social media sites such as Reddit and Twitter every single day.

Minecraft itself has dominated the gaming space for over a decade, and while the world-famous game has seen dips in popularity at times, the consistent flow of updates provided by Mojang ensure that fans regularly have new content to return to and enjoy. These major updates often add much more than just new building blocks, with several updates in recent years such as the Nether Update, Caves and Cliffs Update, and Wild Update radically reshaping key aspects of the Minecraft world such as cave systems and the Nether dimension. These improvements have expanded greatly on exploration themes in particular, but have also brought in a lot of new blocks, items, and gameplay mechanics that benefit players who are mainly interested in creating amazing builds.

A Minecraft player named Natural__Power on Reddit has shared a new project of theirs with the like-minded builders on the site. This large statue depicts a giant crab perched on a rock above the surface of the water, and apparently was made after its creator took inspiration from a video which showcases a popular project made on Blender, which itself features an animated crab perched on a rock while wielding a knife. Aside from the BSL shader pack that can be seen used in the screenshot, the creator of the Minecraft build claims to have used the WorldEdit and Tweakeroo's freecam tools to assist in the construction process.

The original video that served as the inspiration for this project was a video from Jasper Pagan on YouTube, a filmmaking student and Blender expert. The video detailed how they made an animation in Blender featuring an animated crab, and how the animation won the Default Cube Blender challenge. While the creator of the actual Minecraft build was tempted to go a step further and give the crab statue an item to hold, they ultimately decided to leave its claw empty due to the more natural appearance it provided.

Towards the end of 2022, Mojang revealed a few of the features that fans can look forward to with the upcoming 1.20 update. While fans have been hungry for more details, they have been able to experience some of the upcoming decorative blocks thanks to several preview snapshots. Although there's supposedly much yet to be revealed, builders can expect to have plenty more decorative options at their disposal in the future.

Minecraft is available on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and legacy platforms.
