The world of Minecraft has long been a digital haven for creative gamers, with fans building everything from a giant, playable GameBoy console to recreating an epic World of Warcraft battlegrounds map. Now, a new add-on for the blocky sandbox game will let players get their hands dirty in their own tranquil garden.

Bloom, from Gamemode One, allows Minecraft players to become the groundskeepers of an abandoned garden. Here, away from the threat of the usual Minecraft enemies, players will be able to discover, cultivate, and customize their little slice of paradise.

The DLC, which is the last of the free maps released as part of Minecraft’s Community Celebration, delivers new 3D items to the fans, which they can use to find and grow more than 30 magical plants. Players will be able to construct an interactive cabin, design their own dream garden, and customize them by crafting dozens of new decorations with all-new recipes. If a player wants to take a break from restoring the grounds, they can go out to fish, forage for new plants, or perhaps even stumble upon a mystery within the woods.

Previous Community Celebration content included Simburbia!, in which players could become mayors of their own cities; a farming simulator, Farm Life!, that could compete with the best farming sim games for newcomers to the genre; and an action-adventure map, Terra Swoop Force, that let players take to the skies. In addition to these new game modes, Community Celebration also brings exclusive character creator items to fans who play on the Bedrock edition of the game, and a free week of Java Realms to those who play on the Java edition.

Gamemode One, developers who have introduced numerous add-ons, such as Minecraft Pac-Man, Superheroes, and Advanced Farming, created Bloom in order to give fans a fresh start in the new year. After a year like 2020, in which even the Minecraft AR mobile game, Minecraft Earth, was shut down due to the effects of the pandemic, Gamemode One hopes that Bloom will provide fans with “the ultimate peaceful, stress-smashing experience” in 2021.

Bloom lets players escape into their own peaceful world and tend to a personal garden, without the need to constantly look over their shoulders for a Creeper. With free content like this, and events like Community Celebration that reward fans for their loyalty, it’s easy to understand why Minecraft was inducted into the World Video Game Hall of Fame.

Minecraft Bloom is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
