Ever since they were introduced into Minecraft in a major update in late 2019, the buzzy bees have charmed players, pollinating flowers and providing resources such as honey. Now one Minecraft fan has paid tribute to the buzzy bee mobs by designing a custom PC in the style of the bees, complete with honeycomb accents and 3D printed decorations.

Minecraft’s buzzy bees are passive mobs that were introduced in version 1.15, first included in Minecraft Snapshot 19W34A. Bees don’t hurt players unless the player attacks first, and there are good reasons to keep bees happy. They can be kept in beehives, and are used to produce honey and honeycomb ingredients using bottles or sheers, respectively. Budding Minecraft apiarists can find bees nesting near flower forests. Flowers can also be used to breed bees.

Posting to the /r/Minecraft Reddit community, a user named 1YardLoss shared their custom PC build, complete with photos showing the unique interior. It’s one of the latest custom PCs assembled by 1YardLoss, real name Joshua Wilkinson, who runs OddTech, a computer and keyboard business based in Texas. Earlier this year, he also wowed gamers with his Pokemon-themed custom PC build. This time, he’s drawn inspiration from Minecraft for his latest build.

The build uses a case by Cyberwood, with a design that prominently features hexagon shapes, selected for its resemblance to honeycombs. It is decorated with yellow LEDs and features liquid cooling, with fluid that resembles a warm honey color. But the centerpiece of this build is surely the selection of custom-made buzzy bees, with a large 3D printed bee sitting above the graphics card. There are also smaller bees decorated around the case, as well as some Minecraft honey bottles, and a CPU cooler customized into a hexagon shape.

This Minecraft buzzy bee computer looks incredible, but it also looks pretty good on paper. It features a 6-core Intel i5-11400 (11th generation) CPU, 16GB of RAM, and an AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT GPU. Wilkinson claims the total cost of the build was approximately $800. Those keen on getting their hands on a Minecraft buzzy bee PC are in luck; Wilkinson has stated he will build and sell PCs using this design by commission.

Reddit users reacted positively to photos of the custom PC, describing it as “super cool” and “un-bee-lieveable,” and showering it with Reddit awards. It’s an excellent example of a unique and creative custom PC design, and it’s bound to inspire Minecraft fans who are in the market for a new rig. In the meantime, Wilkinson is already working on his next build, which is apparently Bulbasaur themed.

Minecraft is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and legacy platforms.
