A Minecraft player with an especially creative eye puts several different building pieces to clever use in order to build a convincing basketball hoop. The structure has caught the interest of many like-minded Minecraft players, who have been able to put the design to use in their own builds and even construct life-sized basketball courts.

This is hardly the first time that inventive Minecraft fans have used certain pieces to build some interesting structures. Players have been using things such as stairs and pressure plates to build tables and chairs practically for as long as the game has existed, and it's not uncommon to see things such as bathrooms, roads, cars, and more built by fans in an impressively creative way. In fact, nearly every custom build tutorial found online likely utilizes pieces such as trapdoors and even fireplaces to construct some parts of a creator's design in unorthodox ways.

A Reddit post from the user namesdontmatterlmao provides a good example with their basketball hoop design. The post's simple title is accompanied by an image of their build, which uses multiple iron bars stacked on top of each other with a unique banner attached to provide the frame. The designer uses a trapdoor to provide the hoop, along with a spider's web underneath to complete the build with a basket. Overall, the structure only uses 4 different components, and provides an easy-to-build structure for any Minecraft player to assemble.

Since the build seems to use an acacia trapdoor for the hoop, one fan in the comments suggests that players instead use a mangrove trapdoor, as the hole in the middle of a mangrove trapdoor provides an even more convincing asset for use as a hoop. That said, Minecraft's hundreds of building blocks and pieces allow players to put their own spin on the design if they wish, giving fans the means to make adjustments to other players' existing concepts and even create their own inventions.

Most people already know, whether a Minecraft fan or not, that much of the game's beauty lies in the ability for players to build whatever they want, big or small. Even now, more than a decade after the game's official release in 2011, the Minecraft community continues to build and share entirely new creations. The potential combinations of blocks in a Minecraft world gives rise to a limitless workspace for creative potential, with even more new building options being added to the game with every ongoing update. With the addition of a new type of wood, hanging signs, chiseled bookshelves, and more with the upcoming 1.20 update, builders have even more new opportunities to look forward to in the near future.

Minecraft is available on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and most legacy devices.
