Minecraft fans, it's time to gear up for another big adventure. Following breadcrumb teases of a possible Minecraft crossover with the insanely popular animated series Adventure Time, the game's creator Mojang and developer 4J Studios have finally unveiled the official Mash Up Pack. The Minecraft/Adventure Time pack is available now across Console Editions of the game, with the update hitting Wii U and Nintendo Switch later this week, and Pocket Editions and Windows 10 sometime soon.

The news broke on Mojang's official YouTube channel, where the studio posted a technicolor announcement video. Adventure Time fan favorites like Finn the human, Jake the dog, Ice King, Marceline, and Princess Bubblegum join the sandbox title for what is sure to be great fun.

As they trek through the expansive pack, players will go shoulder-to-shoulder with noteworthy residents of the land of Ooo, like Beemo, Lemongrab, Lumpy Space Princess, and Lady Rainicorn. Fans can battle against Ice King in his frosty royal palace, or feel the heat in the Fire Kingdom with Flame Princess. There's also an extra special treat in the brand-new pack: the alternate versions of Adventure Time's Finn and Jake, Fionna, and her tiny cat, Cake.

However, players should be mindful that the new crossover isn't a run-of-the-mill Minecraft Skin Pack; the Mash Up Pack is completely immersive, covering the full scope of game's landscape with Adventure Time flair. Every corner of the land of Ooo is available for users to transform to their heart's content.

The Adventure Time Mash Up pack was released in conjunction with the latest Minecraft update. Patch 3 tacked on Glide (plus a new Glide track), a Magic: The Gathering Skin Pack, improved Nintendo Switch features, a Chinese Mythology Battle Map, new sound effects, an off-hand Maps and Arrows slot, and a new smelting ability. The full change log for Minecraft Patch 3 can be found on the game's forum site.

Players can get their hands on the Minecraft/Adventure Time Mash Up Pack now for the Console Edition. It will run them $5.99. For those building and breaking on a Wii U or Nintendo Switch version of the game, the wait time to pick up the pack will be a bit longer. The official announcement indicates that the pack will be available "soon," but it's unlikely that it will be delayed more than a day. Pocket and Windows 10 Editions of Minecraft are set to nab the pack at an unspecified later date.

This pack joins a laundry list of past pop culture-infused Minecraft updates. In the past, Mojang and 4J Studios have released a Simpsons Skin Pack, a Fallout-inspired DLC, a Guardians of the Galaxy Skin Pack, and a Halo Mash Up for the game's Xbox 360 Edition. Given that both the animated series and the cube-constructing title have such dedicated, thriving fan bases, the Minecraft/Adventure Time Mash Up Pack seems a perfect match.

Minecraft is available now for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Wii U, and mobile devices. The Minecraft/Adventure Time Mash Up Pack is available now for Console Edition, with more editions receiving it soon.
