Minecraft fans are confused after "Minecraft 2" begins trending on Twitter. The first Minecraft has sold more than 176 million copies around the world and the Minecraft 2 tweets prompted some to wonder if developer Mojang had sneakily announced a sequel to the popular crafting game.

On Twitter, there is a huge number of tweets from users asking if Minecraft 2 is really happening. These tweets are all because of a post by an anonymous forum user who says that they have been fired by Nintendo. The user says that there will be a Nintendo Direct on November 6 and that Minecraft 2 will be one of the big announcements made by Nintendo.

Other leaks from the user are a new trailer for The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2, and Red Dead Redemption 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 will be announced for the Nintendo Switch too. Grand Theft Auto 6 is also a Nintendo Switch exclusive game, says the post.

The leak is most definitely a fake for a few reasons. The first being that CD Projekt RED has said that Cyberpunk 2077 "probably" isn't going to be released on the Nintendo Switch. The developer did suggest that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's Switch launch left room for a potential Cyberpunk 2077 Switch release, but any Switch version of the game won't be revealed at the next Nintendo Direct.

It also seems highly unlikely that Grand Theft Auto 6 would be a Nintendo Switch exclusive game. There have been suggestions that Grand Theft Auto 5 is coming to the Switch but most fans have wondered if Grand Theft Auto 6 would be a PS5 exclusive, not exclusive to the Nintendo Switch. If Rockstar really is going to make GTA 6 a much bigger game than GTA 5, with higher quality graphics, the Switch probably won't be able to run it.

However, the fakeness of the post is what's helping Minecraft 2 to trend. Many of the tweets about Minecraft 2 and the other leaked games are those that joke about the games. One Twitter user asked fake leakers to "stop please" and another posted the list with laughing crying emojis. Some users have also said that if the other games weren't on the leaked list, they may have believed that Minecraft 2 is happening and would be announced at a Nintendo Direct. Microsoft and Nintendo did team up on a Minecraft trailer, but Minecraft 2 probably isn't going to be announced at the next Nintendo Direct.
