Players of many games want to get the max level as quickly as possible to make fights as easy as possible. So if a player wants to max out their level in Middle-earth: Shadow of War, and do it quickly, they'll need some key information first.

What is the Level Cap in Middle-earth: Shadow of War?

While at release, the maximum level for players was 60, an update several years ago raised the level cap to 80. Players can level their gear and weapons to level 85 as well, and even level 90 for weapons that an Olog breaks. For anyone who is going back to play these games as rumors of the next Middle-earth title in the series is in the works, getting to level 80 doesn't have to be impossible.

Leveling in Middle Earth

In order to get to max level, players will have to earn a massive amount of XP. While players might think that the best thing to do is to take on the most powerful beings in Middle Earth, there are some smaller critters that give out better XP per hour. In this Middle-earth: Shadow Of Mordor sequel, players can do several things to max out their XP input.

  • Wealth gems signifiantly raise the amount of XP players earn. Put one into the cloak slot and one into the armor slot as soon as possible. At max level, these two will give player 30% more XP.
  • Outpost missions and free-roam nemesis missions are two of the best sources of XP.
  • Buy XP bonuses from shops and use all XP boosts.
  • Middle-earth's Orcs also give out great XP.
  • Online sieges not only grant a lot of XP, they also give players war chests, which can supply them with great items.

Doing a combination of all these things will help Middle-earth: Shadows of War players to conquer level after level in the game, and get them to the highest possible level quickly.

Leveling Wealth Gems

Wealth gems in Middle-earth: Shadows of War can be slotted into weapons, armor, or runes, and each of those slots gives players a unique buff. When wealth gems are slotted into armor, they give players a massive XP boost. The levels of the gem changes the amount of extra XP a player will get.

  • Regular Wealth Gem - 5.0%
  • Carved - 7.5%
  • Polished - 10.0%
  • Refined - 12.5%
  • Perfect - 15.0%

In order to level lower quality gems, Talion can combine three of the previous level gem to make the next tier up. So three regular gems can be put together to make a carved, and three carved can be combined to make one polished. The best place these gems can be farmed is in Gordumi Orlu Outpost.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
