The Xbox Series X is launching in just a few months, so it makes sense for Microsoft to update its look to better reflect its transition into a new console generation. To that end, the company has announced that it’s preparing to roll out a brand new version of the Microsoft Store, complete with a brand new design.

Revealed today on the Xbox Wire blog, the new virtual storefront will provide Xbox users with a “a completely rebuilt experience designed to be faster, safer and easier to use than ever before.” Helping it achieve this will be a cleaned-up version of the “Mercury” design for the Xbox Store that was leaked back in June.

According to Microsoft, the new store will follow the example of the Xbox Series X’s insanely fast load times when it comes to speed, being twice as fast as the current version and capable of launching in under two seconds. This speed will also apply to the actual shopping, as browser performance has been “greatly improved” to allow users to load pages, look up sales prices, and watch trailers with less waiting for things to load.

As for the “easier” part, the new Xbox Store will boast a “fully redesigned navigation system” that will let users access different types of products without hassle. Specific improvements include a redesigned search function with better filter options, a Wish List that will let users know when listed items go on sale, an updated shopping cart, and more visible listings for games from previous Xbox consoles.

Once the new store goes live, users will be required to sign into their Xbox accounts to access it. This ties into Microsoft’s emphasis on safety in addition to speed and ease of use, as this will make it easier for parents to filter the content that can be viewed on their kids’ accounts. More than that, though, this system will enable the store to better highlight games that are more relevant to a user’s specific interests.

The updated Xbox Store will be rolling out in multiple stages. The plan is to make it available for a number of Xbox Insiders starting August 5, and then gradually roll it out to more Insiders ahead of a full launch sometime this fall, potentially around the launch of the Xbox Series X. However, Microsoft stresses that this will merely be the “starting point” for the new store, and it will only continue to grow and improve from there.
