Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is finally out, and tons of players are taking to the sky to explore Microsoft’s version of Earth. Microsoft Flight Sim 2020 reviewed very well, though it seems fans are calling attention to some of the game’s early hiccups.

The Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is gorgeous to look at, but it’s not without some rather strange graphical occurrences. One of the most recent graphical issues fans have discovered is an incredibly tall skyscraper located in the game’s version of Australia.

Many players and critics knew that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 would be a graphical feast for the eyes for those who had the proper PC specs, but many were surprised at just how robust the overall package is. In fact, the game is shaping up to be one of the year’s top rated games, seeing as multiple media outlets have given the game perfect or near-perfect scores. However, Microsoft Flight Sim is not without its share of faults, as players have been pointing out on social media.

One of those most recent issues that is grabbing significant attention online comes from a strangely tall skyscraper that can be found in Melbourne, Australia. Should players fly over Melbourne, they would quickly be greeted by a skyscraper that appears to be well over 200 stories tall. Screenshots posted of the skyscraper can hardly even contain the full height of the building, giving it an incredibly eerie appearance. This isn’t the first time a real-world building has looked strange in Flight Simulator, as Buckingham Palace is strangely low-poly and blocky compared to the real-world equivalent.

However, it seems the mystery of how this tower came to be has been solved. Apparently, the building’s massive height is a result of an error in a free editable map database called OpenStreetMap. Players have discovered that the skyscraper in question is erroneously listed as having over 200 floors, when in reality the building is much, much smaller. To give an idea, that would make the innocuous skyscraper the world’s second tallest building behind the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. While Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is clearly one of the best flight simulation games in recent memory, it’s not without some flaws.

As of the time of writing this piece, Microsoft has yet to do anything about the massive skyscraper, though it’s very likely it will be shrunk down accordingly in due time. Until then, players can still fly their planes out to Melbourne, Australia and see it for themselves. There are plenty of other amazing sights to see in Flight Simulator, like Disneyland, and the previously mentioned Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is available now on PC, with an Xbox One version in development.
