A new trailer has dropped for Microsoft Flight Simulator and the game looks stunning. The realism in the aircraft is on display, as are the remarkable real-life locations and airports from around the world.

The first Flight Simulator from Microsoft released back in 1982, and the newest title is looking to bring the game into the current generation. Unlike silly games like Goat Simulator, the flying game from Microsoft takes the word simulator as seriously as possible. The result is a gorgeous game with real-deal flying mechanics.

The technology inside of the game is extremely impressive, as the simulated data updates regularly inside Microsoft Flight Simulator to maintain realism. The beautiful vistas and detailed locations show exactly what that technology can do. But the meticulously designed aircraft and airports that are made with excellent precision are perhaps what allows Microsoft Flight Simulator to truly stand out, and this is what is on display in the newest trailer.

The gameplay shows off dozens of hand-crafted planes, including small ones such as the Icon A5 and Savage Cub, and massive airliners like the 747-8 Intercontinental. Airports as tiny and intimate as WX53 in Indonesia, with its smooth dirt paths, and large ones like Seattle-Tacoma International Airport are a part of the trailer as well. Amazingly, basically every airport on Earth will be in Microsoft Flight Simulator (but not all can be landed on).

The unrivaled realism was on display during Game Rant's hands-on time with the Flight Simulator. The game has the opportunity to set itself apart as a true simulation experience.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is set to launch on August 18th on PC and Xbox One.
