Michelle Pfeiffer has recently shared a sneak peek at her extensive training for her upcoming role in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Pfeiffer is on the treadmill in the video, and before she even starts running, the determination and excitement in her eyes when she mentions her character's return is palpable through the screen.

The 63-year-old actress, who is already in amazing shape, is adopting an even more strict and intensive workout routine in preparation for filming Ant-Man 3. In the new video posted to her Instagram page, she looks the camera right in the eye as she says, “Janet Van Dyne entering the Quantum Realm this summer, I’ll be ready.”

Pfeiffer didn’t join the MCU until Ant-Man and the Wasp. The sequel did, in fact, finally free and liberate Janet from the entrapment of the Quantum Realm. Given her character is now unbound from the realm, Pfeiffer is expected to have much more screen time in the third installment. The video that she shared revealing her preparation and strict exercise routine only further confirms that her character will undergo some massive changes in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

The anticipation Pfeiffer has towards returning back to her character once more, both physically and mentally, is apparent. She is an actress who is known mostly for her performance in drama movies, which couldn’t be further from the Marvel Universe. Yet, Pfeiffer told IndieWire in an interview right after she announced her return just how much pride she felt in being a part of the Marvel franchise, saying that she loved the first Ant-Man filmPfeiffer explained that she felt the first Ant-Man film was smart and funny, with a tone she felt was unusual for this type of film. While the experience of being on a set in an odd costume and surrounded by a green screen could be challenging, Pfeiffer noted that her experience working on the sequel was fun nonetheless.

Pfeiffer knows that with MCU fans, the bar is set high and she seems definitely up to the challenge. In an interview back in 2020, Ant-Man 3 director Peyton Reed described the essence of the third installment as being much bigger than the first two entries. Reed said, "In the first Ant-Man, we added the Quantum Realm and Janet and stuff like that, knowing that if we were able to make a sequel that could be fertile ground.”

The firm foundation and establishment of the Quantum Realm and Janet in the sequel is the perfect progression for Pfeiffer to shine. After two films in which the character played a minor role, fans are eager to see her in action when the third Ant-Man film hits theaters.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is set to be released on February 17th, 2023.
