A Metroid fan has created an incredible fan art of a Jack-o-Lantern Samus suit in the spirit of Halloween that shows the hero in a spooky black and orange suit with green highlights. While Metroid Dread took the series in a scarier direction, one Metroid fan's interpretation of a Halloween-themed power suit is a darker look at Samus.

Metroid fans are used to seeing Samus in an orange and red, blue and red, or a pale white power suit from different upgrades found in games across the franchise over the years, but a new fan art has taken a different approach. Reddit user XxgreencookiesxX recently shared their impressive Jack-o-Lantern Samus fan art that shows the Metroid protagonist standing next to a Halloween-inspired power suit. Unlike the Metroid Dread power suit for Samus, the one in this fan art is more akin to the one included in the original Metroid and later brought to the Super Smash Bros. games.

XxgreencookiesxX has Samus Aran in a pink and grey zero suit with her blonde hair tied back standing beside the Jack-o-Lantern power suit that has garnered the attention of many Metroid fans. Two large Jack-o-Lantern shoulders glare out with a smile on either side of a helmet with the air tubes that play an important function fittingly appearing at the base of the carved pumpkin head. Trading any of the red colors featured on the original Metroid power suit, XxgreencookiesxX's creation is a lot darker, and it has an arm cannon that's just as Halloween-themed as the upper half of the fan art.

Instead of the expected futuristic Metroid arm cannon that has been a staple of many of the games in the franchise, XxgreencookiesxX's Halloween creation has a small Jack-o-Lantern with an open mouth near the tip of the cannon, which could make it look like the carved pumpkin is breathing beams and missiles when in use. While XxgreencookiesxX's Jack-o-Lantern variant of Samus Aran's power armor swaps the helmet for an incredible and seemingly illuminated Halloween-inspired one, they didn't clarify if it affects the Nintendo hero's visibility. Although Metroid has included a vast arsenal of different power suits for Samus, Nintendo has yet to create a seasonal one that looks like XxgreencookiesxX's Jack-o-Lantern armor.

Many Metroid fans have voiced their appreciation for XxgreencookiesxX's fan art that imagines Samus in a Jack-o-Lantern power suit, with one noting that the Nintendo hero should morph into a "cumbersome" pumpkin when transformed into the morph ball. Though most Metroid players were enthused about the Jack-o-Lantern design from XxgreencookiesxX, some Reddit users also noted the impressive design of the unique Samus zero suit as well.
