Metroid Dread is the latest 2D side-scrolling Metroid title that brings Samus Aran back to another mysterious planet. Along her journey, Samus will gain skills, power-ups, and abilities that will help her traverse dangerous environments and defeat the hostile EMMI robots.

After Metroid Dread players defeat the first boss in the game and acquire the Phantom Cloak ability, they will need to make their way to the east side of the map to get inside an elevator to go to the following named area, Cataris. Cataris is home to many magma-filled rooms, making it hard for players to access new areas upon entering due to Samus not having access to a heat-resistant suit yet. When players land on Cataris, they'll find that all of the available rooms can't be accessed right now, but there's one thing that players might miss that can help them progress through the area.

Where to Go at Start of Cataris in Metroid Dread

Players might be surprised to hear that the only thing they need to do when entering Cataris is shoot some missiles on the left wall in the elevator room. Instead of going to the right and facing a dead-end, players just need to reveal a hidden entrance with Samus' weapons --it's as easy as that. The image below shows the spot where players can aim and shoot at.

Some Metroid Dread players might get stuck occasionally due to the game not showing them precisely what to do. The biggest tip that players can take with them is to shoot all over the map. There are a lot of spots that may not appear to be destroyable, so making sure to attack every little nook and cranny is crucial to not get stuck in Metroid Dread.

Metroid Dread isn't a super long game by any means, but players should make sure that they're avoiding the EMMI robots by using the Phantom Cloak ability. Losing to the deadly robots will make players reload back to the recent checkpoint, wasting precious game time.

Metroid Dread is now available for the Nintendo Switch.
