Metroid Dread has finally arrived and it is one of the highest-rated games in the Metroid series. There is a lot of excitement behind the game that took sixteen years to appear, as fans are thrilled to finally receive some more Samus action. One such fan decided to commemorate the occasion with a piece of artwork, one that combines Metroid Dread with Red Dead Redemption.

At first blush, the cowboy world of the old west may seem to be as different as possible from the lonely sci-fi exploration of Metroid Dread. However, fans of Red Dead Redemption often create artwork, and now that Metroid Dread has been released the creative craftsmanship continues with a brand new game. However, perhaps not many anticipated artwork combining the two.

Recently u/ArtlordKozu uploaded an image to r/NintendoSwitch on Reddit. The handiwork shows Samus in an entirely new light. The creation specifically is designed with the iconic Red Dead Redemption boxart/promotional posters in mind. Instead of cowboys and pistols on the cover, Samus and her Arm Cannon are the centerpieces. The rest of the design is made of Metroid Dread imagery. Very creatively, the name of the mashup is titled Red Dread Redemption.

Since the post went live two days ago, it has received nearly 9 thousand upvotes and hundreds of comments. Along with showing the artwork with love, many commenters point out that the creation reminds them of just how difficult Metroid Dread is. Whether it be the E.M.M.I zones, the intense boss battles, or the old school nature of the game's design, Metroid Dread is a constant challenge. However, many fans appreciate the difficulty and even that shines through with this Red Dead Redemption crossover art.

This Red Dead Redemption and Metroid Dread creation is certainly not the only piece of artwork out there, as recently a fan even created a Metroid Dread Jack-O-Lantern to celebrate the game and the season. The excitement is genuine with Nintendo and Metroid fans, as the gap for a new Metroid game was very long and the wait for a 2D entry into the series was longer still. It makes sense that fans would use such an emotional, important, and artistic series as a backdrop for creativity. And when it comes to combining the game with Red Dead Redemption, the two games may go down as some of the best ever in their respective genres. So the match is one that seems like a perfect fit after all.

Metroid Dread is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
