Following the recent release of Metroid Dread, many fans have gone on to celebrate the game in a variety of different ways. With the return of the atmospheric, isolating tone that the Metroid series is known for, Metroid Dread delivers a haunting experience that has left a strong impact on many in the gaming community. In fact, one fan has recently incorporated the game into their Halloween decorations.

Unlike many other Nintendo properties, Metroid is an unnerving experience for many, due its remote and inhospitable environments. While games like The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess feature a similar unsettling atmosphere, the worlds are always populated with friendly, approachable NPCs that keep players company during the game. Metroid Dread in particular does a good job of making players feel helpless, due to the inclusion of the EMMIs, an enemy which one fan has featured as part of a Jack-O-Lantern.

A Reddit user named sionnachglas crafted a Jack-O-Lantern themed after Metroid Dread. The Jack-O-Lantern features both Samus and the EMMIs, the imposing, quadrupedal robots that stalk the player during various gameplay segments. It's impressive to see the game celebrated in such an interesting form factor. Usually, fan art and cosplay are predominantly highlighted, but a Metroid Dread themed Jack-O-Lantern is certainly different.

The Reddit user certainly cultivated a unique way to celebrate the game. That Metroid Dread has only been out for a few days and gained so much fan recognition is incredible. The fact that the Metroid Dread has already set a franchise sales record after releasing only three days ago is also quite the unprecedented achievement. Though, for many fans of the Metroid series, one lingering question still remains.

Back in E3 2021, many fans were expecting to see Metroid Prime 4 shown off properly, only to see Metroid Dread unveiled. Metroid Prime 4 was first announced back in 2017 and there has been little to no additional information released regarding the game's development. While the return of 2D Metroid in the form of Metroid Dread is certainly a welcome experience for many, it has also left many fans to wonder when the return of 3D Metroid will occur.

It will interesting to see what will ultimately become of Metroid Prime 4. On the one hand, the lack of information regarding the game's development is certainly vexing for a number of fans, but it could just be that Nintendo wants to wait until there's enought substantial content to show. That was certainly the case for Bayonetta 3 and could just as easily be the case for Metroid Prime 4.

Metroid Dread is available now for Nintendo Switch.
