Due to the non-linear nature of exploration in Metroid Dread, players will be passing through the game's Cataris region on multiple occasions. With each new ability and piece of equipment they unlock, more and more of the area becomes accessible to them, and this is also true of its many hidden missile, energy and Power Bomb tanks.

There are 21 of them in total, the majority of which are designed to expand Samus' maximum missile capacity. Players can increase it by 38, while also gaining an additional one and a half tanks of energy and increasing the number of Power Bombs that Samus can carry by three. With the exception of Metroid Dread's first region, Artaria, nowhere on planet ZDR can offer more.

To reach the second Energy Tank, players will need to have acquired the Spider Magnet. Once they have it, they can lower the moving platform by hanging from the blue strip on the right side of it and then loop back round to the area with the mechanism they used to lower the lava to collect the tank.

Energy Tank #3 (Energy Part)

The final energy tank in Cataris is in the south of the region and can only be accessed once players have unlocked the Power Bomb. They'll need to destroy a block to open a tunnel and should then run through it as fast as they can. Upon reaching the next screen, they'll need to flick the left analog stick down and then walk into the gap beneath the next Morph Ball tunnel. Once there, they should activate Samus' Shinespark ability and aim directly upwards, which will clear the blocks that are barring access to the tank.

Missile Tank #5

To get their hands on Cataris' fifth Missile Tank, players will need to hang from the blue Spider Magnet material on the nearby ceiling and then use missiles to destroy a couple of red blocks. Once they're gone, players will be able to climb into the tunnel and collect the tank.

Missile Tank #6

Once players have the Varia Suit, they'll finally be able to explore some of Cataris' many hot environments. By hanging off a blue platform and shooting some red organic material, they'll be able to find the sixth Missile Tank in one of them.

Missile Tank #9

To pick up Cataris' ninth Missile Tank, players will have to approach it using the Morph Ball tunnel in the area to the left. Before they can even get into the tunnel, however, they'll first need to destroy a few blocks using Samus' trusty Arm Cannon.

Missile Tank #10

There are a few different ways to reach the tenth Missile Tank, but the simplest involves traveling straight through the center of the area beneath it rather than relying on wall jumps. Players should therefore head left to the purple platform that leads to Dairon and then run as fast as they can to their right. When they reach the next area, they should store Samus' momentum by flicking the left analog stick down and then destroy the hidden block in front of them. From here, they should slide through the gap and then use the Shinespark ability to hit the side of the opposite slope. This will allow them to store the momentum for a second time, after which, they can climb up the three platforms and unleash it into the ceiling to destroy the blocks and claim the tank.

Missile Tank #11

metroid-dread-cataris-missile-tank-11

The eleventh Missile Tank can be found in a Morph Ball tunnel in the area shown above once players have unlocked the Space Jump.

Missile Tank #12

metroid-dread-cataris-missile-tank-12

The twelfth Missile Tank will also require the use of the Space Jump. Players should make their way to the top of the tunnel shown in the image and drop down it, destroying any blocks that are in their way using the Morph Ball bomb.

Missile Tank #13

Players can collect Cataris' thirteenth Missile Tank by rolling through the lava-filled tunnel shown above.

Missile Tank #14

metroid-dread-cataris-missile-tank-14

After acquiring the Gravity Suit, players will be able to destroy the orange blocks by activating the Speed Booster and running straight into them.

Missile Tank #15

metroid-dread-cataris-missile-tank-15

Cataris' Final Missile Tank is in the area above where Samus defeated Experiment No. Z-57. To reach it, players will simply need to destroy some blocks using the Screw Attack.

Every Power Bomb Tank in Cataris

Power Bomb Tank #1

metroid-dread-cataris-power-bomb-tank-01

To reach the first Power Bomb Tank in Cataris, players will need to destroy the blocks using Morph Ball bombs and missiles and then hang from the underside of the platform. If they're having trouble, it can help to lower the platform one stage at a time rather than trying to destroy all of the blocks at once.

Power Bomb Tank #2

metroid-dread-cataris-power-bomb-tank-02

After players have gotten their hands on the Gravity Suit, they'll be able to access a network of tunnels to the right of the area where they fought Kraid. At the end of it, they'll find the region's second Power Bomb Tank, though will need to remove a Grapple Beam block before they can collect it.

Power Bomb Tank #3

metroid-dread-cataris-power-bomb-tank-03

After unlocking Power Bombs, players will be able to access a hidden tunnel in the region's E.M.M.I. patrol zone by destroying an orange Power Bomb block. They'll then need to head through the door at the top left of the screen and run back through it to activate the Speed Booster. Before hitting the wall, they should slide beneath it using ZL and then store Samus' momentum by flicking the left analog stick down after they land on the platform below. From there, they should slide through the tunnel to their left and quickly make their way to the spot at the end of the row of pitfall blocks. It's then just a simple matter of activating Samus' Shinespark ability and aiming to the right.
