Though a lot of focus is placed on the equipment and skills that players can acquire in Metroid Dread, these aren't the only things worth tracking down. Hidden throughout Planet ZDR's various regions are a number of special tanks that can not only increase Samus' maximum health, but also the number of missiles and Power Bombs that she's able to carry.

Artaria, which is the first region that players will explore in Metroid Dread, contains 29 of these tanks, though not all of them are accessible right away. By the time players have found the Screw Attack, however, they'll be able to increase their maximum health by two and a half tanks, carry an additional 64 missiles, and hold one more Power Bomb than they'd otherwise be able to.

By standing to the left of the pressure-sensitive door at the bottom of the step there, they'll be able to run to their right and charge up Samus' Shinespark ability. The moment it activates, they should flick the left analog stick down to store her momentum and then wait for the door behind them to re-open. Players will be able to find Missile Tank number ten after receiving the Varia Suit. They'll still take damage in the lava, but, providing they're quick, should have no issues surviving it.

Missile Tank #11

With the Varia Suit equipped, players should grab onto the blue panel on the ceiling and then jump off when they're above the Missile Tank to collect it.

Missile Tank #12

metroid-dread-artaria-missile-tank-12

After finding the Varia Suit, players will be able to climb across a blue panel on the ceiling of a long lava-filled room. Upon passing through some flames and reaching the far end, they'll find the twelfth Missile Tank on a ledge.

Missile Tank #13

To reach the thirteenth Missile Tank, players will need to use the Speed Booster to break through the blocks in the corridor above it. Once the blocks are gone, they should then shoot through the ones in the floor to reach the tank.

Missile Tank #14 (Missile+)

metroid-dread-artaria-missile-tank-15

By destroying a missile block and then running up the hill in the area beneath the fourteenth Missile Tank, players will be able to gain access to a hidden chamber off to the left. From here, they should run to their right to activate Shinespark, store the energy by flicking the left analog stick down and then jump onto the ledge where they found the third Energy Tank. From here, they'll need to get into ball form and then hold B and aim to the right.

Missile Tank #15

metroid-dread-artaria-missile-tank-16

To reach the fifteenth Missile Tank, players should head through the door on the opposite side of the large chamber. There, they should shoot the hidden block to the right beneath the next door. Once it's gone, they'll need to charge up Samus' Shinespark ability, get into the Morph Ball-shaped hole, and then activate Shinespark to fire the ball off to the left.

The seventeenth Missile Tank is clearly visible from fairly early on in the game, though players won't be able to access it until they have the Grapple Beam. Once they do, they'll be able to pull the drawbridge back up and then jump across the gap to pick up the tank.

Players will find the twenty-first Missile Tank not long after picking up the Gravity Suit. It's on the default route and so is difficult to miss.

Missile Tank #22

Missile Tank number 22 is at the top of the tall room shortly after the red Chozo Soldier fight.

Missile Tank #23

metroid-dread-artaria-missile-tank-13

metroid-dread-artaria-missile-tank-24

The final Missile Tank in Artaria is to the west of the region near the elevator up to Burenia. In fact, it's found through a hidden exit to the right of the elevator room, though players will need to have found the Screw Attack to reach it.

Once players have the Grapple Beam or the Space Jump, they'll be able to use it to reach the top of the tallest room in the E.M.M.I. patrol zone. When they first find the Power Bomb Tank there, they probably won't have unlocked the Power Bomb yet, so it will show up as ??? in their inventory and on the map screen until they do.
